Insua aint in the CL squad mate, it'll be Aurellio or Dossena.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Jus watched the chavs on MOTD, and i think we maybe saw how to beat them, or at least score. Gonna be alot harder to keep em out than Blackburn, but the chances are there. They seemed lost at the long high ball game and bearin mind some of our recent goals we cud take advantage. Thinkin outside the box, but chasin a goal with 10-15 to go, maybe throw Agger or Hyppia up front as a target for Nando to work with. Without Terry they'll maybe struggle at the back, Carvalho can be got at and carded if we get the service to Torres, jus so long as the ref aint been spoken to on the day of the match of course.........but thats a whole difrent story!!

I have a good feelin bout this, but i have to admit to a good feelin las wensdy too, so thats no goddam guide!

Well it would be a longshot, but if Bolton can score three against them then pressure is on us to make some kind of fist of it. I heard whispers the Chelsea defence wasn't coping well with the high ball into the box, they have got a cr ap goalie so that wouldn't surprise me. It's not the greatest tactic in the world, but trying to outplay Chelsea might be a bit fanciful - especially at their's.

Rafa has to improve his tactics, Torres cannot allow himself to be marked out of the game and neither can Gerrard. If Gerrard is getting marked tightly and effectively then move him right, move him left and confuse any marker he may have. If nothing else he should free up space. I wonder if Agger wasn't played deliberately on Saturday, maybe that is part of the plan as was the Mascherano run from deep (just as shame his finish is poor)

The key for me is do we go with Mascherano to try and control the game, or invite a more open game and leave him out? Chelsea could try and close the game down, no reason why they shouldn't since only ONCE has a side lost at home and gone through in TWENTY-FIVE previous instances in the Champions League. Maybe Alonso in front of the back four, Benayoun and Gerrard free behind Torres with Babel and Kuyt out wide. I would suggest Mascherano in front of the back four, but that would lose Alonso's passing and Mascherano's mobility is negated by his lack of much else bar winning the ball.

But I'm not that bothered if we go out, put everything into the league. Even if we get through this round, the odds of us reaching the final are slim and our chances of winning it even slimmer. More games = more chance of injury, fatigue and resting. We'd have to pull off something phenomenal to stay in the Champions League, not that we haven't albeit in six minutes in a final on neutral ground, but I'd rather we (stayed) focused on the Premiership. This has become a distraction for people on here, no doubt it is as much a distraction for Rafa. Thankfully Saturday didn't need his 'tactical input' or we might have been in trouble, I thought we might have taken Torres off a lot sooner though

That' a shame but I don't know if Rafa would play him anyway. Apart form the 1st leg Aurelio has been playing realy well and I have faith that he will again on Tuesday.

You're right Chelsea have no Terry in defence and they will bring in Carvaliho, who is very good, but hopefully it will make them a bit nervy and un-familiar across the back four.

Gerrard and Rafa need to work out how he can affect the game as much as he usually does if he is man marked again. He needs to swap around with kuyt on the right to see if h can get space and break free.

I left the pub on Wednesday thinking it was going to be very very difficult, I was almost resigned to us going out. Not now though. I have this daft feeling we are going to do another 'Liverpool,' pull it out of the bag when the odds are stcked against us, I'm even going to have a little flutter. I think we will get 2 goals in the first half and a nervy second half will follow.

Come on red men!  :buttrock

Got to bring in Sami, .he'll dominate in the air at both ends. I'd play Jamie at right back and drop Skrtel for Agger. Javi in for Lucas obviously and full out attack. It'll be a tough call but we can do it. Scoring  in the first half is imperative. Gerrard cannot have a bad a game on Tuesday, that is for certain.

Not sure I'd have Sami up against the likes of Dogbreath, his pace is the one thing that'd stop me doin that. Don't get me wrong, Sami's beena damn fine servant of the club, but he's NEVER had pace, and despite his exceedingly fine skills of readin the game I'm jus not convinced this is for him.

However........ I'd have him on the bench an stick him up front in a las 10-15 minute gung-ho go for goals scenario as any set-piece or damn fine cross would be to his benefit without terry in their defence.

I'm really looking forward to this game mainly for one reason in particular. Has Rafa ever been in a situation like this before at Liverpool? I'm very interested to see the way he sets up and the way we approach the game knowing that winning by a two or three goal margin will see us through.

For me it has to be Agger ahead of Skittles, he looks to drive forward all of time and can spot a run or play a good pass, its exactly what we need on Tuesday.

Let the 96 look down and guide us on Tuesday! This ones for you!
