Brilliant match. Great result. Xabi Alonso was outstanding! Surely he should be our main set-play taker - we looked much more dangerous from corners and free kicks today. He was all over the place.

Harry Kewell as well. He just keeps getting better and better. Great finish to kill the game off.

Crouchy as well. I was starting to loose faith in him, but another great game today.

Garcia showed his class again.

Sissoko did well and our defence was solid as always - Carra stand out as you would expect in a merseyside derby.

Can't criticise the ref too much either. He over-reacted to book Harry but otherwise I thought he was fair enough, the game threatened to boil over throughout the whole match. He dealt with Van def Mede well too - he pulled him away from the Liverpool players and had him off before he knew it. Garcia was lucky with his flailing arm, as was Reina against Ferguson.

Really enjoyed that match - a rollercoaster.

I cant remember when we were playing better than this. Late 80's, early 90's in my opinion.

Alonso was absolutely phenominal today. Thoroughly deserved his MOTM award, and his set-piece delivery is awesome.

Every blade of grass the lad covered. F*cking brilliant.

Neversh*te can b*llocks if they think they're the best team on Merseyside. That result, along with the reverse at the cess-pit.

Even Gollum couldn't pretend today in his post-match interview! They're W*nk. I know it, you know it, Gollum knows it and Rafa CERTAINLY knows it!

What a w*nker Phil Dowd is though. The tubby tw*t was obviously playing for the Bitters until he had no choice in the red for the ugly hunchback of Bittera Damme.
