CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIRST GROUP STAGE DRAW - Thursday 27th august 17.00 BST

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby steveh8204 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:08 am

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Manure drawing Real Madrid although I would probably prefer that for the knockout stages.

Would love to see Ronaldo cost them dear with a dive. Either that or Alonso take the p**s out of their midfield. Might start to forgive him then for leaving us before our most important season for years.

I wouldn't like to draw Athletico personally especially if Aguero is still there.

Still what the hell, the tougher the teams the better we play. Champions League seems to kick off our season. Maybe thats why we've had a :censored: start because we haven't had to qualify, lol!

Keep your eye out for the Sir Exlax influence in the draw, guarentee they will get the easist draw out of all the english teams. Its nailed on.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

I just really want to avoid Atletico, Fiorentina, Bordeaux, and I think Wolfsburg and Standard look like the trickiest pot 4 teams.

Last year we got really easy pot 2 and 3 teams but by far the most diffiuclt pot 4 team in Atletico.

We are due an easy draw.......

If you look back, every season we usually draw strongest teams from pot 3 and 4 (usually spanish, french and dutch teams). And manure like always get some $hitty eastern european teams.

I would like this draw.

Porto
Besiktas --another 8 -0 :p
APOEL Nicosia

Worse case scenario:

Liverpool
Real Madrid - Wonderteam
Olympiakos - Hard away game
Wolfsburg - German champions

Also would like to avoid -

Inter Milan
Athletico Madrid
Standard Liege

I think the actual draw starts at 6pm BST mate.

They are saying there is a 2/3 chance Real will draw an English side. Hopefully it is us. I would rather we draw them now rather than in the knockout stage.

League matches around the CL games:

15/16 September
Burnley (H)
[CL]
West Ham (A)

29/30 September
Hull (H)
[CL]
Chelsea (A)

20/21 October
Sunderland (A)
[CL]
Man Utd (H)

3/4 November
Fulham (A)
[CL]
Birmingham (H)

24/25 November
Man City (H)
[CL]
Everton (A)

8/9 December
Blackburn (A)
[CL]
Arsenal (H)

Almost every champion league match day is either before or after a BIG premier league game (with the exceptions of matchday 1 and 4). And that is before we know who we've drawn. Consider this...say we get Real Madrid and the game gets scheduled for matchday 5!!! :O :O
