CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW 11.00 BST - build up and reaction

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby The_Rock » Sat Dec 17, 2005 12:04 am

I was hoping to ajax or rangers (who are the weakest teams this year).... But well......benfica was sort of my 3rd choice...  :D

Benfica is not a easy team to play against. (They are good defensivelt)..... That doesn't mean that we won't beat them....

But u got to love the draw.....three of these teams won't be in the quarterfinals.....(Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich)...And if we get the winners of "Rangers vs Villarreal" in the quarters..... it would be great.

I am going to step up and predict that the 2006 UEFA Champions League final will be between Liverpool FC and.......CSKA Lokomotiv Hungary.

To the rest of the world, it will be our sixth European Cup.

To Jose American Express, it will only be the fifth, because as far as he's concerned, not only did Liverpool NOT beat Chelsea last year, but Chelsea went on to win the cup by beating AC Milian 35-0.

Anfield and the Kop are such legends of European football and won't be around much longer (by the way: when will the last Liverpool home match be played there?). L

No word on that yet, we may not be able to make a new stadium like we expected.

What's the reason? Thought it was fully decided and the new stadium under construction... What's the general feeling of Liverpool fans about having a new stadium (or not). Willing to move to a new/better/bigger stadium or to stay in the legendary Anfield where LFC lived so many historical moments. Benfica also built a new stadium recently. In the beggining most fans (me included) thought we shouldn't move from our historical stadium but soon everyone (me included) was for the new stadium...
