I think we will be scrapping around for a cheap deal. Maybe a rough diamond Benitez knows about. What happended to that Argentinian centre back we had an eye on, he wasnt badly priced.

1 more I forgot to mention:

Samuel Kuffour: His contract is up at the end of the season and he has stated he wants to leave, proven calibare in the Champions League. The guy is good in the air, very quick. Barca and Real Madrid were both interested in him 2 or 3 seasons ago and he would have no problems adjusting to the Prem's phyical nature. Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in case Sol Campbell doesn't sign a new deal, which says it all about his ability,it might be hard to get him though. We were linked with him before the deadline, I hope we can sort something out for when his contact runs out.

They won't sell many shirts with a name like Ujfalusi. Where is he from ?
Good one for Scrabble though !!

Quote from Kuffour:

“My wife Francisca wants to live in England," he said

"She has family there and I’d like to play for Arsenal. I like the way they play for each other."

Kuffour is out of contract with Bayern in the summer.

Though he is strong and a good defender, he has a serious lack of pace.

The only reason he looked so good in the Euros was because he was playing as a sweeper in a very defensive team.

I honestly have no clue who is available right now. The best defenders are at Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd so theres little chance any of them will join us. Theres little else in our league better than what we have, the likes of King perhaps, but as an englishman the fee and wages will be too much for us. So it means we must scour Europe for players, and players who are available and willing to join our club. I imagine its a scramble for the best of them and competition is tough. We will just have to wait and see  :glare:

I reckon we should pull out all the stops to get Ledley King
Could be a class Liverpool player - given a chance
although I was listening to 5 live the other day - they were saying something about when he heads the ball, he closes his eyes
so was a bit worried about that

Collocini (spelling)
Not sure whats happened to him but he may well be on the cards still!

My ideal Centre back would be Ledley he is fast strong reads the game very well and can pass the ball!
