Apparently Spurs had made a 25M offer for him.

it's also well known that spurs made an enquiry for rossi on deadline day and were quoted £30m+. teams play ridiculously inflated prices on deadline day which is why i don't agree with the transfer window full stop. it's absolutely ludicrous.

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? For all we knew he could have come in and been a world beater. I know that I for one was genuinely excited after he destroyed Man City at home. Nobody knew he was going to get injured and then struggle for form and consistency thereafter.
