Arbeloa was all over the shop , he was getting torn to bits by valero and carragher gave him a piece of his mind . Arbeloa is a average defender i've been saying it since the start of the season , doesn't overlap much , very weak on the ball , gets caught ball watching and his crossing is average . Sell arbeloa , we were get 8 million for him at the start of the season and i think any club in spain will still be willing to pay that much , bring in glen johnsen who may not be the best defensively but still better than arbeloa and he can shoot the ball from distance as well , put in good crosses and most of all is not lightweight

Hit the nail on the head.

The thing that I disapprove of more is that  in Jamie's statement, he does not issue any sort of apology. He thinks that what he did was justified, but its not.

Its not something that the club wants to be associated with, no one was in his face last week when he almost gave up a goal in a worse situation.  I laughed at Chelsea when Ballack and Drogba when they quarreled over who wanted to take the free kick last season, and with good reason. I thought that we were above this sort of thing

Maybe so, but I'm glad he did it. Arbeloa has been p*ssing me off all season, letting people ghost past him and offering f*ck all cover at times at the back.

What team have you been watching this season mate?  Arbeloa's been consistently solid this season, but granted is nothing special.  I think he's performed to the best of his ability this season and we can't ask for much more from the lad.

Same one you've been watching. Arbeloa has been culpable on more than a dozen occasions this season. Some matches he just didn't turn up. He'd an absolute stinker against Arsenal, and against Chelsea in the CL. He's often languid on the ball; lazy if you will, and is sh*t at overlapping. He's nowhere near the quality we require, and I've been saying that for a long time now.

I think you're both right. Arbeloa has been consistently solid all season..... but he just is'nt good enough, both defensively or going forward. We really do need better, but I doubt we can afford better if we manage to sign a few of the players we are rumoured to be after (Tevez,Barry,Downing etc)

If we did manage to bring in someone, I would be looking at a full back who can also play CB......someone like Richards off City.

yup my worries were

1) it would give our club a bad image and we'll go down to the levels of mancs and cheats..

2) there could have been a booking and it may have given wba some kinda way back into the match

3) takes the shine off the victory as the media loves to hound us given any chance

4) like you mentioned, no form of apology was given meaning its actually ok to lose your cool at your team-mates in the midst of the match?  ???

5) it could spark some silly rumors that arbeloa is leaving etc etc

i understand the reason why he was agitated and i find it really nice they wanna do something for Pepe but not that way.

Storm in a teacup.

I haven't posted in a while...it was depressing to see manure secure the title while we lost only 2 matches, but we drew far too many times at Anfield against the so-called lesser lights at Anfield.

I love Carra. Carra was right to have a go at Arbeloa, as he was so sloppy at marking. Carra gave so much to our season thus far and I wished we had more players with his fierce detemination in that famous red shirt. Go Carra!

If Arbeloa were able to match up to Carra then I doubt we'd have any problems with Arbeloa's defending and the handbags incident wouldn't have happened.

Carra vs Xabi might have been a better poll, or Carra vs Xabi AND Arbeloa

The thing is tho Carra wouldnt have done it to Sammi, Skrtel or gerrard he picked on someone that he thought he could bully. He is getting older now and i predit next season he wont start every game.

He has made plenty of errors himself most recent against West Ham when he got caught pondering on the ball, he has had nightmares against Henry, Arshavin and Drogba to name a few.

He is the voice at the back and I think thats why Rafa is afriad to play Skyrtel and Agger together cause they dont cough and bark giving orders out.

It was a shame it happened if if Alonso had not have stepped in Carra would have hit Arby and it wasnt nice to see.
I was disapointed last season with him and Gerrard away at West Ham when they where gesturing Rafa was clueless bringing on Lucas that was another episode that upset the team.

No player is bigger than the club, even the scouse ones.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Don't see what the big fuss is about. I've seen far worse on a football pitch.

I also think he was wrong.

It may be a storm in a tea cup but it was still wrong.

Yes have a word - roar at him if he needs it, as vice captain thats fine.
But dont go pushing him and screaming at him like you want to rip his head off.

It was OTT and its not the first time Carra has done that with a team mate - it was not so bad when he flipped out at Alonso for kicking the ball out half way through the season, but the signs where there.

There is a fine line between being passionate and being a bad influence.
Carra is usually someone that you want players to follow, a leader.

I dont think he was yesterday and he owes Arbeloa an apology really.

Having said that if it went off he would f'ck him - easy  :D
