nice top see that sven has finally woken up out of his coma and finally included jamie carragher in the england squad for the portugal game. i know he's been injured but to me it's a great surprise that he doesn't have more england caps than he has. there isn't a more versatile, committed defender around and he deserves his chance. i'd take him over those piles of sh#te mills and phil neville anyday.

I reckon Carragher  would be a good squad player, but I can't see where he would play. I think Bridge or Cole are better choices for left-back and I doubt he'll get in at right-back. An absolute must for the final 23 though

absolutely. the disadvantage he has is that he isn't the most comfortable going forward which is imperative for a full back these days. in terms of pure defensive ability he is very very good. ashley cole can't defend to save his life and bridge is more worried about getting forward as well. i think he could be a good understudy for gary neville (the dirty headbutting tw#t).
