I'm absolutely gutted mate, I'm crying into my whiskey now

seriously tho, it as just our ressies (and we already know there's little quality in there) against theirs, they always do well in this competition and I wasn't very optimistic when I saw the draw. I still wanted us to win the game and we really looked like getting the goal we needed late on. I'm sure we should have had a penalty tho from Senderos but there you go

I was gonna say something about Voronin being ruled offside clear through but he probably would have missed anyway  :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Being completely honest i said to myself that if we lost this game i would not be dissapointed.

I am a little dissapointed but only because i thought the lads did a great job and deserved to go to pens. But the main feeling is relief that nobody got injured.

Soooo yeah I dont care that we got knocked out!

I am actually bothered, we put up a good display. So no shame on the performance. I am one who believes if you enter a competition then its serious. Agreed other competitions are more important, but their are only so many cups to win in England and this is one.(and we aint won much as of late) The Finals i went to in 80s were important. And this years final will be important to both the winners and losers, i think its a shame we wont be at wembley for this.
I also think its a shame so many people don't care about this cup anymore.

dont ever like losing but we have bigger games ahead, would of been great for the squad players but the nearer you get to the final the more inclined you are to play your better players so maybe its for the best giving how our season has started.

It's one chance at silverware down the pan isn't it so I think it's fair to say I'm somewhat disappointed. :(

To be honest this club is about winning bigger things. I wanted us to play mostly kids and some experienced players and that's what Rafa done. Have we all forgotten how good Arsenals kids are? I think we gave it a good effort and we probably should have had a penalty but we didn't.

I bet if we had played a full strength team and lost Torres or Gerrard people would be saying the opposite.

I'm very bothered as it's a quarter of our chances of winning a trophy gone, as Bob said. If you take the view that we are needing snookers a bit in the league and Champions League, then our options are slightly diminished by this defeat so yes I'm bothered. That's not to say I expected us necessarily to win there, nor that I think we didn't give account of ourselves because we did, but I'd still like to have won it.

AND I'M NOT CRITICISING THE MANAGER FOR THE TEAM HE PICKED, NOR AM I SAYING HE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED TORRES, GERRARD ETC ETC.

Meh would have liked a run but then I think, do we really need any extra matches to play at this stage, I haven't given up on winning bigger things, so now I'm not too arsed. Concentrate on the league and winning the rest of our CL fixtures

I think Rafa did well with the tactics for this game.

But I would have liked us to be a bit more physical.. the Arsenal team were all tiny. The only player i really noticed who was taking an advantage over muscle was Kuyt, who was winning every challenge today, both in the air and on the ground. A bit dissapointing that Babel, Voronin and Kyrgiakos werent doing the same.

Big Mick, well said.  Liverpool have a proud history of winning trophies perhaps missed something in the last two years but can someone show me the trophies.  The win against the Mancs may well keep the fickle fans quiet for a while but I suspect Fulham and Lyon in the next seven days will change their minds.  I am amazed that any fan can say I,m not worried about winning.  IS THAT NOT WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT?

Spot on.  I've got no qualms with the team selected but I think we had enough about our game tonight to grab an equalizer and at least force extra time.  As it was, it was another opportunity to remind ourselves just why Babel and Voronin are not Liverpool calibre.  Some other lads with at least a foot in the 'not good enough camp' gave a good account of themselves but these two seem determined to get every supporter spitting tacks.  :no

I won't. Id rather we concentrate on a strong league finish and run in Europe where we have shown year in year out we can do damage.
