Nice bit of a barney there between Stu, Supersub and BeerGoggles!

Stu: you accused Supersub of quoting you out of context, but you did the same with BeerGoggles by misreading his post, and then called him a f##king fruitcake.

You get used to Stu after a while.

In fairness to him he's a passionate fan but sometimes (ok, almost all the time) his passion clouds his judgement.

He does have his moments of clarity though, and occasionally he can make very good points, but most people don't credit him because he's a reputation of shouting people down or rudely dismissing people's opinions with more swear words than an Irvine Welsh novel.

Me and Big Al had our run ins with Stu when he first joined, although we don't argue much anymore, but Owzat and Supersub are currently going toe to toe with him.

I agree.

Love him or hate him, this forum wouldn't be half as much fun without Stu.

He stirs the sh##e and gets a lot of people arguing.

All I'm saying is its a good job this forum doesn't meet up at the boozer, we'd have all kicked the cr#p out of eachother by now. Wonder who'd win?

Yeah Stu.......

Legend has it heard he was kicked out of the official forum, he can be argumentative, he tends to reply to most people's arguments with the word "boll##ks", but he does love the club, and he does come out with some interesting points that make you think, so I would stick with him and read his posts, but be prepared to take the good with the bad.

I must admit he has stirred the forum up since he joined.  I think everybody has had a run-in with him.  It's a laugh.

but of course we're all wrong and he's right (not that there always is a wrong and right) I wouldn't mind so much but he argues like you can imagine Houllier would, except I reckon Houllier probably wouldn't

:)

Arr thanks lads. :)

Nar in all honesty the only explanation you'll probably understand that like Gerard Houllier i am not easily influenced by other people. I have my own opinions and i tend to stick to them. I'm not fickle, i'm certainly not blind and i don't let it cloud my judgement as some people suggest. All i see wrote is how sh##e Houllier is.

All these people at the end of the day are talking sh##e and nothing but. At the very worst Houllier is the third best in England at the moment, thats not sh##e by any stretch of the imagination.

People's arguements such as if Evans had this squad he'd win the league etc are just invalid because the fact is he didn't sign the players.

People don't understand there are different sides of management. Just because a manager is particularly strong in one area doesn't mean he's strong in another. Tactically a manager maybe the boll##ks but couldn't motivate a player to save his life. On the other hand you can get it the other way round.

There are so many different parts to managing a team.

if he was third best he wd of won the league by now or at least came close more than once

disagree totally

btw i think calling each other names and stuff isn't helping, we all want liverpool to win the league, and in time it will happen, and if stu thinks houllier is the man then fair enough, we will all see, but we all want the same thing so just better to argue validly

if he's the third best he'd have won the league... so... does that mean there isn't a third best manager in england? ???

What's the point of being the 3rd best manager in England, if it were really true, if all that Liverpool can muster is dour and defensive play (even at home) with sloppy defending and blunt attack that we have problems beating the teams in the bottom half even by the odd goal and continuously underachieving?

The third best manager would be able to transform the club's fortunes in the playing department whereby his achievements during his reign should be more of a success than not.

After this, I'd expect a barrage of abuse from Stu, but personally I am not picking a fight with Stu. I just don't believe Houllier will take us to become champions. Not anytime soon, most likely not ever.
