I would have loved this game to be held around Christmas so that our team could have got more time to become used to each other but i am more than pleased with what i have seen so far and maybe this could be the right time for us to play them because in all reality we are a new team and one which not a lot is known about and we have a manager who is technically head and shoulders above Ferguson so yeah maybe it is a good time to be playing these feckers.
Lets beat the daylights outta these prawn eating maggots on monday night.
BRING IT ON.

i have to say that old trafford has been a happy hunting ground for us over recent seasons. infact in 3 of our last 4 visits we have won and kept a clean sheet. the other occassion we lost our best centre half after 5 minutes thanks to "you know who's" overexaggerated fall in the penalty area.

the thing is, in the past, we have gone there and i have expected us to maybe hold out and nick something on the break. however this monday, i REALLY THINK we are going to win. it's a great time to be playing manure. i wouldn't say they are in crisis but i think they are showing serious signs of unrest at the moment. the key for us is to stop ronaldo.

i expect us to win 2-1. :)

If ronaldo tries his step overs with Josemi he's gonna find one of his legs have gone missin' .

Like you St Mick , I feel a confidence growing ,we can go to Manc Land and take them apart, provided the Ref stays neutral the 3 points are ours . :D

I agree. I`ve seen Riise on his a*** before when he`s up against players with pace and the technical skills of players like Ronaldo. Playing for Norway internationals against Denmark he had to be seriously dizzy after being taken on by Gronkjaer again and again. Good thing that Sami seems to be back at his best, providing a solid cover if Ronaldo manages to get past Riise.

But I do think that Riise seems more solid now than a year ago, he did a great job keeping Wright-Phillips out of the game in the Man City-game, and I hope he can copy thet performance on Monday

we must be careful... ruud vanshitstel rooy is back hes already back in business with 2 goals

i dont think we'll win i think we will loose 2 - 1 or we'll draw 1 - 1 or.. 2 - 2

when we played monaco we played well but there was i think 2 occasions where dudek and carra i think left it for each other so it was like ****** nervous cos we were only 1 goal up then so dudeks gotta be more decisive

i will be a hard match and im sure if that

definitely.

i think that's mainly due to the fact that he's now realised that the first perogative of a defender is to DEFEND. yes it's great bombing forward from left back like roberto carlos (in his first season i think he scored 8 goals) but you have to be solid defensively. ashley cole has learned to do it to great effect, lets just hope riise improves as the season goes on. :)

Riise has so much energy now which is damn good with a player or his calibre that can only be a good thing

Im waiting for Sami to score his first goal this season one of my favourites

Completely true, I'm looking forward to Josemi doing that but then Ronaldo will fake a foul and a free kick for Manchester.

Lose? I doubt that, we've played United before its not like this is our first time playing them. Lyon never played Manchester so they were not aware of what Van ****** could do while we do know what he can do and we have played against them before.

a lot of people on this forum were saying "sell riise" in the summer. i couldn't believe it. people have short memories. everyone knows the ability is there. he was just another player who's confidence suffered in a poor side over the past few years.  :(

i mean how would you feel if djimi "bambi on ice" traore was playing ahead of you week in week out? :D

Realistically guys, if we get any sort of result it will put them out of the championship race. Given that and the fact that they will see this as a chance to kick-start their season, and allowing for twelve minutes being added on for them if necessary and/or handball being permitted by their strikers in the dying minutes, a draw would be heroic. If we don't prevail, and I suspect we may go down by the odd goal in three, despair not. We are a giant no longer asleep, we are on the way back. The mancs however, while still being one of the best teams in the country are in terminal decline. When its gone its gone.
