f**king hell i remember that, that was absolutely terrible.
i cant believe it was that long ago, it seems like about 8 years ago or something.
they padlocked the gates at the back i seem to remember and people were all trapped by the fire.
horrific.

I saw the video in fire safety demonstration in school.  Everyone was shoked by the images....

still have vivid memories of this, i remember the policeman on fire, when i was training for the police we had footage and photographs from valley parade and the images are still strong.

the fire spread so quickly, you would think it would be easy to escape, run down to the pitch but it wasnt that easy.

on that day i was actually meeting a girl not more than 100yds from the stadium. then all hell broke loose. the smell in the air was pretty rife, and the sky almost turned black with the thick smoke. i was 18 at the time. very harrowing indeed.

RIP and thoughts to all the families who lost someone that day
