Left back is a worry at the moment with Aurelio out injured. We don’t know much about Insua and it looks like we won’t ever find out because Rafa refuses to give him a game. If we don’t want to move around the rest of the defence, which has been doing well, then we will have to play Dossena, who to be fair, had a non-disastrous game against West Ham.

Sometimes I don’t even notice Keane in games he has been so ineffective so he should be dropped to the bench for now. I would move Kuyt upfront and if we don’t play Babel upfront when Torres is injured then he will never get a chance in that position. What was the point of spending £11 mil on him if were not going to play him in situations like this?

I would ask Gerrard to play on the right in this particular game so we can stick to a 4-4-2. We can’t play 4-2-3-1 without Torres, the others striker simply don’t have the attributes to play the role effectively, especially if they are not being supported by a specialist “inbetween the lines” player.

Blackburn are not a very good side, and if we put out a sensible side that plays with some desire and confidence we should win this. But then again, I said the same thing before the West Ham game.

                         Reina

Arbeloa    Carragher    Agger    Dossena

Gerrard   Mascherano  Alonso     Riera

                  Kuyt        Babel

Subs

Keane
Ngog
El Zhar
Benayoun
Lucas
Hyypia
Cavalieri

So whats the line up? 5 - 4 - 1?

who are the subs and starting eleven?

my team would be:
--------------------Reina--------------------

Arbeloa---Carragher----Agger---Dossena

------------Alonso------Mascherano-------

------------------Gerrard-------------------

-------Kuyt---------------------Riera------

--------------------Babel------------------

2 DMs o dear come on mate you got to have the 1 , 2 is over kill i like formation but i like to see alonso more up the pitch where he does the most damage.

Mind you apart from that DM spot on for me.  :D

I can see us winning today by a few goals so long as start with a good tempo. Blackburn are not the team they once were but are still a physical side so we need to be careful.
