this is the team i think the coach should pick for betis away:

                                   Reina
   Finnan             Carra              Sami            Warnock

                                         Xabi
                           Momo                               Riise

                                  Gerrard
       Cisse

                                   Crouch

am i being stupid not playing Didi or garcia?

.                     Reina

Josemi       Carra      Sami     Warnock

                       Didi

Finnan       Xabi        Stevie    Riise

                      Cisse

this is the team i would like to see line-up ^^, because i think Cisse will expose the Betis defence's lack of pace, however i think we will line up like this:

.                       Reina

Finnan        Carra      Sami      Riise

Luis Garcia   Xabi       Stevie    Zenden

                 Crouch    Cisse

I dont think Zenden will be starting against Betis. I think Rafas had a good look at him and realised that Riise is the better of the 2. Riise played well against Spurs and will cope well with the pace which is something Zenden maybe not be able to. I would also hope that Sissoko atsrts ahead of Hamman as he along with Alonso, Reina and Garcia have good experience of playing against La Liga teams.

I dont know how we can score in Europe if we are poor in the prem?

its a mirror of last season, and I dont know what to make of it.

Zenden is not injured, he hasn't played recently so Riise has gotten a start ahead of him. I think Riise will start ahead Zenden against Betis as well.

We're creating chances but not putting them away. Goals will come, it's one of those things in football that happens from time to time. In the three games we've played in the Premiership we've created plenty of chances. I would be upset if we weren't creating goal clear chances but we are. Obviously it's just a matter of the ball crossing the line but I think it will happen soon.

I don't think it's a mirror of last season, we're better now than we were last season.

I agree of moving Finnan to Mid field position.

However, in my view in the centre I would want Gerrard. But seriously, I find Ciise is in need of a pair. He performs better with a pair up front. Maybe Sinama. (Crouch is doubtful, with the injury he picked up recently with Spurs). We play 2 Defensive midfielders (Sisoko and Xabi) and 3 in attacking posotion (Riise Finann and Gerrard). At the back Carragher, Hypia and Warnock to line up solidly ahead of Reina. Substitute  wil be Crouch. Garcia, Didi, Traore, Josemi and Carson.

This would be a game where we can see how our team perform 3-5-2 formation. :;):

Reina

Finnan            Carra          Hyypia                 Warnock

Garcia            Alonso        Sissoko                 Riise

                            Gerrard

                            Crouch

The fact Sissoko, Alonso and Zenden didn't start on Saturday makes me think Rafa was planning on starting them tomorrow, however I think Riise might retain his place due to his good form.  Rafa has already hinted Crouch will start and I'd expect to see Cisse appear off the bench at some point.

Swap Gerrard with Garcia. Garcia is no winger, and Gerrard is one of the most versatile player's on the planet. He can play almost everywhere, including imo right wing where as Garcia can't. Garcia's  key position is behind the striker.

I actually agree with you there AB, I'd like to see Gerrard and Garcia swapped around to see how it works, but I can't see Benitez trying it out for the first time away to a top Spanish side in the champions league :no
