I'm trying to guess who Rafa's gonna start with. I haven't got a clue ,so for what it's worth will he surprise us with.

.                                  Reina
.    Finnan         Carragher        Hyypia       Riise
.
.    Gerrard        Sissoko          Alonso        Leiva

.                          Kuyt
.                                    Crouch.

Not my prefered choice, I'm just trying to second guess Rafa in his unpredictability.

My personal choice would be

.                                         Reina
.  Finnan            Carragher                 Hyypia             Riise
.
.  Pennant              Gerrard             Alonso                Benayoun
.
                                                          Babel
.                                    Crouch.

Certainly going to be a tough game, and our lads need to be on top of their game to secure a victory.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a 4-4-1-1 formation, with Gerrard or Benayoun playing the supporting role.

Above all else - those of you traveling - stay safe, and remember those generators! :D

Just released from .tv :

Dirk Kuyt and Andriy Voronin will lead Liverpool's attack against Besiktas in Istanbul this evening.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso makes the bench after returning from a five-week lay off.

The team in full is: Reina, Finnan, Riise, Hyypia, Carragher, Mascherano, Gerrard, Pennant, Babel, Kuyt, Voronin.

Subs: Itandje, Hobbs, Alonso, Sissoko, Lucas, Benayoun, Crouch.

Bring Alonso on for last half hour to get a run out before Arsenal.

The only reason he's not picked Crouch is to stop me getting a full team right!

How long is it now since Crouch played a game? One of the main arguments in favour of rotation is it keeps the players sharp. Even if Crouch gets half an hour tonight, I don't think he will be match sharp for the Arsenal game.

If i was Crouch i would be sending my CV out when i get home.

Well thats my fantasy rafa f'ucked . :D

Won't complain about Rafa's starting 11 but would've preferred Crouch to Voronin or Kuyt,i.e Two wide men (?) in Pennant and Babel putting in crosses for Crouch to nod for goal or put down for a supporting striker.

Lets hope we see the lads really click tonight - get some head of steam up after satdy. What better way to approach the Arsenal game than with a decent result out there tonight!

Bring it on  :buttrock
