Benni buying new players - Is he leaving it too late?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Today Rick Parry said that Rafa is going to look at the squad he's got in pre season training before he looks to bring in new faces, is it me or is waiting for pre season training not leaving it a bit late cos all the talent is getting snapped up now, I do agree that he needs to know what he's got first but surely watching videos or past games over the last few seasons would give him a rough idea?  ???

it's a bit worrying when you consider that mourihno came out today and said that he wanted to finalise his chelsea squad in the next two weeks. pre-season training would be starting in about two weeks time i would have thought. by then i wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of notable arrivals and departures.

benni knows who he would want to bring in in certain areas and they will all have been spoken to about a poss aproach so if they where approached by another club they will let lfc know as it is in the selling clubs intrest to have as many clubs in for a player as possable to help drive the price up.

I cant believe we got the idiot especially as Chelsea are out there trying to buy every player in the world and increasing the morale of their existing squad

Typical we get stuck with a manager who sidesteps the media circus and wants to see the current squad and give players a chance to prove themselves

Is Kenyon looking for a job?

I think Liverpool have wasted enough money on underperforming players over the last 6 years. It would be wrong to get involved in a bidding war for an on-form player whose had a good international tournament.

We do not have unlimited funds.

Our external investment has clearly fallen through.

You may note that Arsenal are not spending any money and the reason for that is clear. We need a new stadium too. Most fans refuse to consider the idea of a shared stadium and therefore it becomes a huge financial investment.

Look at Leeds United. They gambled with massive spending and are now financial cripples.

A number of our players have probably been demoralised and underperforming over the past few years. Give Rafa a chance to assess the talent he has got before spending our millions on players who may or may not gel in the Premiership.
