If Barca come up with a big payout in compensation then I'm not sure it will hurt me that much to see Rafa go, I'd like to see him win the league with Liverpool but I've seen no evidence so far to suggest he's even close. If he starts next season how many games before our title ambitions are shattered? We've spent a lot of money and yet our team is nowhere near the leaders, I do feel the Champions League is a distraction but a big club will be in it more often than not and the Champions of the past X years have had to compete in it and still managed to win the Premiership.

How many seasons of hoping next season we'll win it are we going to accept? We've already gone four seasons without, maybe we should find someone called Vivaldi as our next manager. And don't anyone start on the time it took fergie, Rafa is NOT fergie and he first won the league over a decade ago. Back in that era teams could be promoted and win the league within a few seasons, top players could be bought for £2m or £3m and the mancs won the league because rivals sold them Cantona for £1.5m and Keane for £3.75m. That would be like the mancs selling us Ronaldo and Arsenal selling us Fabregas for reasonable prices. There's no comparison, stop keep trying to draw one. And why do people harp on about the time it took fergie to win it and not the time it took Wenger to - and get under fergie's skin?

Here's a question for those who do play football management games on their games console/PC - if you were managing Liverpool and didn't win the league for two or three seasons would you carry on? If it went four would you carry on? I would say probably not, you'd have failed miserably and would go and do something else or start again.

I know it's only speculation but even since DIC have been interested in buying the club the word has been that they'd bring someone else in.

As most other fans I wish Rafa would get it right cos he's a great guy and a very Shankly-esque manager, but the result and league table does the talking at the end of the day

In anycase, my opinion will be that when DIC comes over, they will be reasonable enough to give Rafa 1 more season to prove himself, if not, he's out for sure. Because logically speaking, when you enter into something new, you would want to sit down and personally observe the corporation or in this case, the football club, to assess what's wrong and need changes, not base your decisions on newspaper reports (we all know how dodgy they are). It will be damaging to just come in and immediately whirlwind away everything and smack in new and unproved changes.

yeap but paying large amounts for really good players doesnt hurt. i think rafa shouldnt buy squad players anymore. and after reading the arbeloa article....ive doubts about rafa's style.
