From Official...
Liverpool have today completed the transfer of Yossi Benayoun to Chelsea Football Club.

The two clubs last month agreed an undisclosed fee for the player, who joined Liverpool from West Ham in 2007, and the deal has been confirmed this afternoon.

The 30-year-old Israeli international made 172 appearances and scored 37 goals during his three seasons with the Reds.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."

the only logic i see in him moving is money and/or to have a better chance of winning the league. im very surprised Chelsea went for him though, thought they wanted to reduce the average age of their squad after all. but good luck to him anyhow. one of the few players who had bags of creativity in our team.

Probably said the same thing when he signed for us.

If he doesn't want to play for us he can fu.ck off.  Same goes for the rest of them.

Is it okay to now say that he looks like a long lost cousin of the Neville's?  :p

Your bang on there, we dont need people hanging about thinking they are doing us a favour and if they dont want to play at Liverpool we show them the door. Benayouns a good pro and a tidy footballer but hes lightweight and has zero pace. We wont miss him and I doubt he will figure much or set the stadium alight at Stamford Bridge either. Frankly its an odd choice by Ancelotti but maybe Abromovich fancies him.

Won't miss him as he is no more than a squad player at best. He will get no more than a handful of games at Chelsea. Clearly chasing the £££'s to good luck to him.

Disappointed to see him go as i think he is a useful player.
BUt i had resigned myself to the fact that he was leaving weeks ago anyway.
I cant believe they would let Joe Coles contract run down and then spend money on Yossi  ???

:(  Weakens our squad and strengthens theirs. Sure, let the fella go if his hearts not with LFC but unless we got silly money (no doubt we didn't) I think it's a poor bit of business to let him go to one of our main rivals in the premiership.
