Who said they were the best ever ?
We're just getting a hard on imagining what that particular four could do. It's a fantasy , chill out with another guiness mate.
ps As for Charlton , I'm 57 and did see him he was good but anyone with a comb over that big don't get in my team . :D  :D  :D

Beckham was voted in as the best Right Midfielder England has ever seen. This was voted by the whole country and football experts. Can they all be wrong?

These polls are on-line, so this means that the age group is 15-25 yr old men most of the time. Its the same as when people vote for the greatest pop stars on the planet ever and Will Young beats Michael Jackson and Elvis into third and fourth place

I agree with the team should be built around Stevie G, he is the best central midfielder this country has ever seen, but to say that Beckham is a weak link is a bit off.

Agree with all the quotes above, shortly: Beckham is not the best midfielder anymore, but he's still a good player despite his decreasing ability. Stevie is now simply the best in England midfield and deserves to have the team being built around him rather than Beckham.

The standard of players in todays game has increased dramatically.

Infact since the start of the 90's its increased dramatically.

Back to Stevie, GH says:

"For Steven Gerrard, the tournament is an opportunity for him to propel himself into the world class bracket.

"It is a competition that can inspire him to reach new heights. That step up to world class is the only thing that is missing for him now, although his performances for Liverpool last season were of an awesome standard. I haven't seen anyone to match him. Steven's has been a careful evolution. He has matured as a person and understands what is within his grasp.

"There is no doubt that Steven will be England's key player. He hasn't had the opportunity to make his mark in a tournament before now because of injury and he will be hungry to make an impression.

"I would play him in the middle. I don't think playing on the left is his best position, but you know he isn't going to let you down from there.

"He has the capacity to cause a lot of problems. Look at the Turkey game. It was Stevie who won the penalty which Beckham missed.

"The French will have to watch him. I know Zinedine Zidane has a lot of respect for Stevie. He appreciates his talent and that is probably the best compliment you can pay him. To have the respect of someone like Zidane says everything."

He will go for the challenge just to live up to those compliments.
Certainly SG plays to win. So does Beckham and the rest.
England wants to beat France. What a match we are expecting!
Lets just see if becks and co. or Zidane and co. triumph.
