I've always told people Stu that you're not all bad, and there is a sense of humour in their somewhere. Its just that 99% of the time you're a complete dick.

Since he was ten/eleven and kicked me off the park on Buckley Hill when I was marking him. Salt box won 12-5 and he scored nine !!

Carragher has always been good, but I do remember him causing a few problems and scoring some tremendous own goals in the past. Playing with David James probably never helped though.
He was very solid defensively under Houllier and now Benitez has turned him into one of the best centre halfs in the league.

Carragher was never going to set the world on fire at right or left back. I only saw him as a decent back defensively and I wanted us to buy a player with better all round qualities.

After Benitez started playing him in the centre he looks a completely different player. And a player like him with tons of pride and determination is of great value to the team, and one thing you cannot buy in the transfer market.

I had severe doubts about him and didn't fancy him at centre-half either. I would've sold him pre-season. I was hopelessly, massively wrong. He has been fantastic all season and last nights was as good a performance as you're ever likely to see from a centre-back. If he played for anybody else other than us he'd be on the Parky show after that display. Often we say " I hope I'm wrong but.....", well I was wrong about Jamie and I couldn't be happier for the fella. Shows what I know.

only recently that Carra has been given the centre back position, before that we was a jack of all trades (playing anywhere in defence) but now his work rate and ability is really shining.

He was excellent when he played Left Back (defensively anyway) for most of the season, didnt rate him too highly before then but he was always decent wherever he played but never amazing

As a matter of fact I have! I've had my scraps with Stu (who hasn't) but I've stood up for him a couple of times as well (although since then I've been put on stronger medication by my doctors).  :D
