Barcelona president Joan Laporta has conceded that the club will not be signing Liverpool striker Milan Baros this summer.

Reports in Spain claimed on Friday that Barca had reached agreement with the player over a move to Camp Nou, but Laporta has now stated that the cost of the operation has scuppered any chance of a transfer - for this season at least.

The Catalan outfit are keen to land another striker, despite luring Henrik Larsson to Camp Nou, and Baros had emerged as their number one target.

"Baros had a great European Championship and like all great players has possibilities of playing for Barcelona, but not this season," the Barca supremo stated.

"His high price makes his arrival here very difficult."

What's happening with Diouf?

Has he even been givin a number yet?

I feel he deserves one last chance to make thing's right with us, maybe Benitez can wrench something out of him, who know's!

Baros always said he would speak to the Boss and leave if the Boss didn't want him.. as its is this is no surprise to me :blush:

I wouldn't understand it if Beni didn't want Baros cos he is class, it isn't a fluke that he got the golden boot, plus he has a good attitude, while in Portugal he didn't really shout his mouth off, ok he was down cos Beni visited the England camp but he had to as if he didn't chat with Gerrard he might have joined Chelsea, I'm sure things will be sorted tomorrow when he returns to training. The only thing that worries me a little is the club didn't comment on the transfer romours

Beni would have visited the Czech camp as well but they said no beacuse they didn't want any outside distractions, so they could solely focus on Euro 2004.

yeah, if biscan:suspect: gets a number(25 i think), then diouff surely should get 1.
