BARCELONA 1-2 LIVERPOOL - ALL REACTION HERE......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Istanpool » Thu Feb 22, 2007 8:21 am

Barca offended with Saviola, Belleti, Messi, Ronaldinho and later Guily. Any  4 of those can break the record of 4 x 100m relay race but could not help to win.

Sissoko was selected MoM, finally UEFA made the right chose.

It is ironic Bellamy and Riise scored. This is life.

Reservations should be booked for May 23 in Athens. Fifth in Istanbul, Sixth in Athens. Love that.

Duno whether it was us defending so well or Messi just didnt turn up, he had a really quiet night he was superb on sunday for the 30 minutes he played didnt see none of that last night.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

wow what a game. I went to bed at 5.30 am and got up for work an hour later, very tired but happy as a pig in s.hit.

That goal from Deco was unstoppable for Pepe, but what on earth was Risse doing? We started well then typically had the tables turned on us, seemed like we were staring down the barrel of a thumping.

Fair play to Rafa, as his tactics worked. We crowded them and put them off their game a little. To be sure we had some incredible luck, but it seems to me that at this stage of the Champions League the winning side always has this sort of luck.

It was a little funny watching Ronaldinho pouting and I am not sure what Messi was doing. Messi just did not seem to be in the game much at all, his body language for the entire second half was terrible. I don't know why he wasn't taken off. I thought Saviola was awesome whenever he ran with the ball.

As for Liverpool, fantastic performance from everyone, with special mention to Pepe & JC.

One last thing, that Ref was absolutly s.*i*e.

Lets finish this at anfield.   :buttrock

Btw, the reaction from the Utd. fans is f#cking priceless.

It's funny how every time we win we're ''lucky''

Luckily 5 cups, luckily managed to win in a stadium they have never won, lucky F.A. cup, all lucky.

You're spot on about warning about the danger Barcelona still poses, we'd better keep the attitude of Rafa, cautious. I was as confident as anybody in our possibilities in Barcelona, I thought we could do it, but we'd better not be too confident now!

Fantastic result.  Rafa got tactics spot on.  What a difference a year makes hey.  Last season we went to Benfica with a negative attitude and got punished.  Last night we were positive and got just rewards.  Hopefully Momo's injury isnt too bad?  The guy is immense!!  I am fine with Gerrard playing on right when Momo is fit and I wish all the pundits would understand why Sissoko has to play more often than not.

As for Barcelona.  Dinho was very poor, no excuses.  Messi was poor but he is just back from a long lay off so he can be slightly excused.
Why Rijkaard played Motta instead of Iniesta I have no idea.  Iniesta has had a wonderful season while Motta has been poor whenever I have seen him play.

The system Barca plays needs Eto.  Saviola and Gudjohnson are not right for that role as they both play off someone else.  Larsson could play in that position but now they only have Eto.

Tie over?  Not just yet as Barca can score twice away from home. They did it two years ago at the Bridge.  Eto should be back as well.  However it is our hands and we couldnt ask for a better result.  2nd leg, lets be positive and not try protect the lead.

Also hearing Andy Gray moan about Messi and Dinho not tracking back is a joke.  If he actually watched Barcelona play he would see that they never track back as thats not there job.  They are not told to track back as that 4-3-3 is played in it's purest form.  Like how the old Holland side played.

Amazing night although how that scumbag barcelona fan got away with gobbing repeatedly at Gerrard for one of our corners. It was so blatant. Nothing will get done about it though - its Barcelona.

Can anyone remind me which is the last english football club that won in Nou Camp?

I have some problems to remember.... perhaps the SKY ONE commentators have the stats?

I am certain we are the last side to beat Barca at Nou Camp.  However Sky were saying we were the last British side which is wrong.  Dundee Utd beat Barca at Nou Camp in 1987 in the Uefa Cup.

I can't wait for the second leg - going to be incredible; but I agree that we have to be wary - I wouldn't say cautious because we've proved we can beat them, and with the Anfield crowd, that will be multiplied.

On a side note did anybody else think that for a 98,000 strong crowd, the atmosphere was :censored: last night?  A few whistles when something happened, and a big crecendo when Ronaldinho touched the ball - but in terms of during normal play that was toss!  Anfield is going to blow thier poor little minds.

I think it will.  I know a lot of there players were shocked when they went to Celtic Park at the atmosphere. Should be no different at Anfield.
