During Avi's funural today in Tel Aviv they played YNWA...
This thing is the top news in Israel of course. Avi was one
of the best Israeli players ever. One of those who were really
ahead of their time. Avi was the first Israeli to play in England.

All day we have stories and old interviews with Avi Cohen. Many
of them are about Liverpool. Just now saw Avi telling about
the LFC scout that came to see him play in Tel Aviv.
He says that he couldn't understand his English, so Pini Zehavi
was translating whatever he wanted as thequestions and answers.
Avi says the game against Aston Villa is his greatest moment in football.
So many funny stories about Liverpool and the players those days...
So sad it is as part of the ferwell from Avi :(

RIP Avi. YNWA.

His son just scored the winner in the 90th minute against Arsenal, and he had a tribute to his dad under his shirt. Thought it was a nice touch

Nice to see that common sense prevailed and he didn't get a yellow from the ref for removing his shirt.

watching soccer special with Aldo and McAteer. He was booked for it, referee apologized for doing it but said he had no choice - what a tool  :no

Didn't see that myself and when i checked the different match centres on different websites he wasn't listed as having a yellow card.

just shows that most refs are nothing but useless automatons carrying out the wishes of bureaucrats that haven't got any common sense or knowledge of the game.     :no

he's had the yellow chalked off hasn't he?

For the record I think it's pathetic, the emotional side of the game is very important imo, seems all those above want to do is remove that
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

JFT 96 - Gone but never forgotten
YNWA 15/4/1989
God Bless You All
