It seems that Rafa was thinking in the next game. First Keane, at min 55, who put a "surprise face" when he was subbed. Then Gerrard, and then Alonso in min 80.

No apparent injuries. In Alonso's case I'd say he was tired, but the others subs just seemed to be resting players for the next match.

One of commentators said Keane had a groin injury mate!
Hope not! :(

Really? Michael Robinson was saying he doesn't understand the sub and neither did Keane.

I hope he's not injured mate!

Good result on paper, but we should have won this comfortably. I was very surprised how poor Madrid were. I was expecting some decent football from them but they looked p!ss poor, especially in the first half.

Fair result in the end, but we should of killed them off after our first half dominance. We'll do them at Anfield.

2pts dropped but 1pt will do.  We'll top the group after 6 games no worries.

Im well p!ssed with the manner we conceded the goal, Carragher let himself down in defending it, he didn't head it away.

Well deserved draw, Atletico were better in the 2nd half

Alonso was :censored: immense, his tackles were everywhere!!! his passes were fantastic.

I would say Alonso, Reina and Riera were excellent today.

our defence is :censored:

On paper it would be nice a 1-1.

But when their midfield didn't exist, they gave all the time of the world to Alonso and Mascherano to operate, when you're that much better, you have to be ruthless and win 2-5 or something.

I liked Keane's goal, but I didn't like what he tried to do with an excellent Gerrard cross. Did he try to score it with the heel?

only a matter of time till our defence cost us games. we need to get rid of arbeloa, dossena and aurelio is not a liverpool player either.
hope the good luck we've enjoyed does not paper over the cracks that are becoming more evident. its like a cup run we are on at the moment with the late wins etc. whats wrong with playing well and winning the games comfortably and imposing our selves on inferior opponents.
not confident ahead of the chelsea game as they have the players to punish every weakness. i shudder to think of dossena and arbeloa facing them
shamrock rovers and liverpool are not a matter of life and death to me. they are much more important than that.

Babel reminded me of Cisse tonight. Only interested when he has the ball, strolled around rest of the time. Kuyt came on and worked hard and made sure the Madrid defenders couldn't pick a pass.

Easier to say who had a bad game for us than who played well. Benayoun was an empty shirt first half.

I think we tired very quickly tonight and a few players didn't look really up for it.

Riera had some trouble beating his man today, possibly a case of familiarity?

I know the Chelsea match is important, but if we would have held on for the win, we could have rested more players for longer because we could have secured qualification a week earlier.
