Are we going to sign anyone else ? - Do we need to ?

Do we need to sign anyone else in this Transfer Window ?

Or if Mark Gonzalez's work permit goes through, will that give us what we need ??

Looking at the current squad on a position by postion basis we seem to be ok.

Reina/Carson

Finnan/Agger/Warnock/King Jamie/Kromkamp/Hyppia/

Alonso/Gerrard/Kewell/Sissoko/Hamann/Garcia

Crouch/Cisse/Morientes/Pongolle

Add Gonzalez to that mix and we look very good

I suppose we dont really need to sign anyone. One thing liverpool havent done in a long time is sign a house hold name.Maybe we dont have the money of the giant clubs.but would it be nice to be able to put in a bid for the big name stars who are proven quality.what bout the likes of adriano.Havent heard his names knocked about by any club.but Kopboyau i think your right. We could happily go on to the summer without signing anyone.

If we signed no one else
must say, i'd be fine with that
Any big name would be cup tied for europe
We are winning, playing well and the bench is looking better (not literally)(as i dont have a fetish for benches)
just keep Traore away from it.

Adriano?  ???

I would prefer that Ukranian guy that plays for AC Milan. Let's get him. Maybe we could get him on loan at first.. ???

I doubt we will be seeing any big name signings under Rafa's tenure. Very good established players, or young hungry ones. Very few clubs make 15 million plus signings.  10 million even. I doubt that Rafa and LFC will ever be involved in signing one of world football's "hottest properties" in the immediate future...

As the great man always says, the right player at the right price and by the looks of things that includes not paying 15 million for wallcott

eve already signed the Worlds Hottest Property Steven Gerrard, 30 million.
Xabi Alonso 13 million, Cisse 14 million, Diouf 10 million.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I agree that the spending may be over for this transfer window.

We still need a top striker and a good right midfielder to bolster the squad before we can seriously challenge Chelsea for the title next season, but I don't see the point in splashing the cash now.

These players we need will most likely be cup-tied in Europe and I believe second is the best we can achieve with or without these players this season, I believe we can do without them until the summer.

Agger, a young eventual replacement for Hyypia for cover at the back was the priority and we've addressed this.  Getting rid of Josemi was a bonus, I'm happy enough if there are no more signings in January.  I wasn't keen on Simao anyway and he was the only other player talked about in the papers who I actually thought might sign.

Would be great to get Walcott but the money being talked about is ludicrous, I'm glad Benitez hasn't been drawn into a bidding war.  A striker who can do it for us NOW will be the priority in the summer, we can't afford to spend 10 million on 'potential' like Chelsea and then wait a few seasons to reap the benefits.
