Every player in the game will walk if a better offer (either financially or bigger/better club comes along). Rooney is staying at Everton because he needs a couple of years to learn his trade before being a big money transfer to a top club.

Smith loves Leeds so much he won't play division 1 football with them.

If Real Madrid offer Owen £100k per week and a guarantee that he'll play beside Ronaldo or Raul every week with Zidane behind him, he'd be gone in a flash.
