No, but read another of Stephen Kelly's books last year - "Mr Shankly's Photograph" - full of great Liverpool (LFC & the city as a whole) memoires and generally a great read. Have you read that one?

A good habit! Mr Shankly's Photograph isn't based solely on footy, it's basically Stephen Kelly's autobiography. All about him growing up on the Wirral and watching the footy, on to him getting taken on at Cammel Laird's and going out on the lash in Beatles-era Liverpool. All with a football backdrop and well worth a butcher's. Even a generous sprinkling of politics thrown in for good measure. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Welcome back SS.  Long time no see.

I read "Gerard Houllier, A Liverpool Revolution" by Stephen F. Kelly in one day start to finish last August.  It reminded me of the time when our fans unreservedly loved this man, nobody criticised him at all.  It will be a good historical document in a few years.

The updated version has this seasons bile in it.  Proabaly a good thing i've got the old version.

nice to be back!  I've just bought the new book compiled by Chris McLoughlin "Oh I am a Liverpudlian and I come from the SPION KOP" so hopefully I can get a bit of peace and quiet from the mob in my house and do a spot of reading.

Welcome back Supersub!

I have noticed that you have got new book called "Oh I am a Liverpudian + I come from the Spion Kop" by Chris McLaughlin.
I have been trying that book, where did you buy that book and how much you pay for it, mate?

Cheers.

Steaming In: Journal of a Football Fan
by Colin Ward

An account of life on the terraces in the 1970s and 80s, this book is an inside story of a football fan. Colin Ward's experiences at Arsenal, Chelsea and England matches, at home and abroad and his experiences of camaraderie and confrontations, chavinism, hatred and colourful terrace characters are charted. He is outspoken on drunkenness, racism and unprovoked viciousness and has harsh words to say about the attitude of politicians and the media to football hooliganism.

Yeah, a very good read but falls into the lazy trap of branding scousers as knife-wielding thieves
