Ok i've said my piece about the forum and i accept that alot of posters want to post about players formations and so on which is fair enough  I will endeavour not to post in them threads from now on as it offen ends up totally off topic and ends up about the owners . One thing i would like to say before i finish ,is that i and others do not post this stuff to purposely derail threads or to cause arguements . In my case if it's caused you to sit up and take notice a bit more then i'm happy . Just don't want the apathy tis all .

Ideally you'd like to think posters would be a lot quicker to employ the 'ignore' function. It would straighten this place in a big way I think.

A little more respect of other people's opinions wouldn't go amiss. The problem is people feel like it is their duty to 'correct' an opinion or statement they don't agree with, and don't set about it in a peaceful and amicable way.

Way too many "cr ap post", "what a load of tosh", "you're a *insert word here*"etc etc

It would be pretty boring if we all agreed, but there are acceptable ways to disagree

I made it as far as here. It's not so much the sentiment (although the head up the hole comment was hardly necessary) it's the tone I can't be bothered with.

We know the "yanks are liars", and we know "it's a proven fact".

I have a question of my own (and I genuinely don't know the answer). Why is it that people who were massively supportive of the the previous manager are generally the ones who wish to discuss the potential and current ownership of the club all the time?

Cus the real issue was never the manager, both past and current, a point that seems irrevocably lost on you!

:) .

The "real" issue for me WAS the manager, that's a point which was irrevocably lost on you fella.

The "real issue" for me at the time, the issue I was actually debating, was the fact that we were playing sh!t and getting beat every week, or the fact we were paying over the odds for players which weren't suited to the Premiership. If it wasn't that, the issue was that we were making 75 changes to the team in 15 matches and wondering why we looked disjointed, or playing two holding midfielders at Home to Wigan and wondering why we couldn't score a goal. If that wasn't the issue, it was that we were persisting with the Lucas/Masherano axis despite overwhelming evidence it was a disaster, or we were attmepting to go a season and a half with David N'Gog as striker cover.

Now I know your good self and other people like you desperately tried to stick a cricket stump in the spokes of any sensible debate with your cries of "it's the owners (innit)", and by labelling anybody who talked about football issues "a disgrace", but just because you refused to address the real football issues, it didn't mean and doesn't mean the rest of us had to follow suit.

The owners didn't cause us to play sh!t all season, lose 19 matches and finish 7th, just like it won't be down to the owners this season when we do a lot better. THAT'S the real issue for me, the football and the things which cause us to do better or worse. If you want to talk about the owners and corporate matters, do so in the appropriate thread, cheers.

I come on here to get the latest news from the club from those who are in the know and also to have a bit of fun in General Chat, also to take part and read in good debates about certain players and the club in general. But lately there has been a turn (and I have seen it on other Liverpool forums). Instead of all of us on here supporting the team, a Liverpool fan is now split in to one of two camps and without going into detail we all know what these are.

So because of this we have Liverpool fans fighting with each other instead of uniting and fighting for the same goal and coming together and supporting the club. Everyone of us as Liverpool fans want one thing - rid of the Americans and all there cronies - I dont think you will find a fan that dosent. We all also want the team to be a success when they play. Of course getting rid of the first makes the second easier to achieve.

But what do we get instead on here - petty name calling and a lot of 'I'm a better fan than you' stuff that is all become a bit tiresome. Last year at the end of the season I remember reading a few posts hoping we would lose a game so we could get rid of Rafa. Thats right Liverpool fans hoping there team loses!!!! And now this season we have fans hoping we lose games so that they can be proved right that Roy is not the right man for the job. Some of the disrespect and  lack of maturity shown towards Roy has really surprised me. Ive said it on here before, but we are at time acting like spoilt Real Madrid fans rather that the knowledgeable and respecting Liverpool fans we are supposed to be. If we seen another club doing it we would be laughing at them.

Before on here you could disagree with someone without falling out with them and you could have an opinion without falling into one of the two sides. A new season is only a few weeks away now although we are still stuck with the Americans we need to get behind Roy and the team because God knows they will need it.

Rafa has gone to Inter Milan and has moved on. We need to do the same.......

I agree 100% with this and andy_g's post.  In particular the part about not everyone likes to bang the drum about the owners and feel miserable all the time.  I just want to support Liverpool, no matter the circumstances.  I don't even check the forums unless I see news about a sale or a signing, just waiting for the season to start now.

Reality is u cannot truly seperate the two issues...There is of course a point to be made about the football, as it should be when a team finishes 7th. But always in context. Its the context that it seems you could never wrap ur mind around!

Of course you can seperate the two issues, it's really quite simple. The Lucas/Masherano axis for example was hugely detrimental to our performance last season, and was absolutely not the best use of the resources available to us at the time. Now you could argue that had the onwers given the manager even more money we wouldn't have had to play Lucas (and you may have a point, although he did buy Aquilani for 20 million quid and he didn't HAVE to play him in truth), but you can't get away from my point that it was a truly awful selection repeated over and over.

People can say "it's the owners" till their hearts content, but I very rarely get involved in discussing such issues. I talk about the football in the main, and as far as the football was concerned last season you are wrong, the manager WAS the main issue.

This season, I still want to talk about football. You can bang on all you like about share options and the like, but I want to talk about football. Within that framework, the manager is still a huge issue, as he is all football clubs.
