I think arby made a bad move here... even with johnson, we would've played him alot more than real I believe...

Well, there was always no chance Arby was going to sign an extention so we have ourselves to blame that he only had one year left though.

Rafa, of what I know, have tried to extend the contract but Arvy
doesn't want to. Fo this to be avoided he had to have signed last summer.

Xabi is also gone, maybe not this summer, since since I can not see him signing another deal with the club.

It always seems that RM get one over on us when it comes to transfer fees. When did we actually sell a player for megabucks. I am really scared that if Xabi goes we will find out it was for about £20m or something stupid like that.

I agree £3.5m for a player who makes the national squad of the European Champions seems exceptionally cheap.

Agree completely with these sentiments, which I myself also mentioned a while back in another thread. Even though he's only got one season left on his contract, he should be worth more than that considering he was LIVERPOOLS first choice right back last season and a regular member of perhaps the best national side out there atm (and also because of the heavily inflated prices this summer in general of course).

Anyways, I wish him the best of luck, although I too think he has made a mistake, as he'll no way be a regular ahead of Ramos. Thanks for everything though Arby.

hate madrid. They didnt grumble spunking £80mil on greasy head but they seem to always want to screw us down and refuse to pay over the odds. Well, I wouldn't do business with the fukers anymore.

I wouldn't sell them a virus - WHOOOOOPS who said that???

good luck Arby
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Sorry to see him go. He was a good player and linked up well with Kuyt. It also puts us back to square one with inadequate cover at right back. Johnson then who? Carra, Mascherano, Darby. I think we need another right back before the transfer window closes. The Middlesborough defeat was a key moment in the title race last year - we need to learn from that.

Duration of contract remaining.

I forgot about Degen but he appears to be chronically injured.

Thanks - Sorry to see Arbeloa go at that price - has Rafa agreed that they take Arbeloa as part of the possible Alonso deal to make £30m seem more reasonable?

Can't F ing believe we have been had off by Madrid again, 3.5m for a good defender is something they can only pull off,  how will we replace him with 3.5m.My only thinking is Derby or worse still Degen will be promoted.

Good luck to him anyway because he did a good job for us.

He will be knackered by the time the world cup comes up anyway with all the running and covering up behind mincy boy.

:D
