Cisse Baros and Pongolle just arent enough for te amount of competitions we are in

We need a striker full stop.
All of those guys above are support players. We desparately need someone to 'lead the line', a big presence, a threat, someone who has the opposition defences worried.  Makaay would do !! Mista is not that man.  :suspect:

Not just another number. I'm sick of this attitude by people. If you want to improve you have to sign something BETTER than we already have. Bringing Owen back and letting Baros get his dream move and bringing in Beattie would be a good start. :)

beattie? :D give me a f#cking break. are you seriously trying to tell me that mista wouldn't score more goals than cisse or baros? it's not like we have millions to spend. anyone who scores 26 goals in la liga is pretty darn good by my book.

I thought Raffa had a row with Mista over his contract (even though Raffa shares the same agent as Mista?)  They sorted it out, put him back in the team and he scored the most goals in La Liga and won the title?

I dont think that Beattie is a player who Benitez would bring to Liverpool in the future. Although he had a brilliant season with Southampton a couple back he has never really produced the same form that had the big clubs nearly knocking on the door for him. Beattie is a striker who i would say is one of the top strikers in the lower bunch below the big 4.

Southampton is average even Pongolle would become god in an average club such as Southampton.

Shevchenko is good in Italy, a weak league at the moment. Is he good enough for the Premiership is the question. Premiership >>> Seria A.

i think mista will flourish at home just like luis garcia, xabi, and josemi against weak oppistion but against the likes of chelsea and away for home they look light weight and he won't hence the reason rafa saw him as a lamp which was broken  :D

So you are saying that Xabier Alonso,Luis Garcia and Josemi will not improve on the road? Wow, thats a great way to believe in the players and the club.

At the end of the day its upto benitez to change our away games hes the manager, we have looked so good at home so in control and took our home games by the scruff of the neck albeit against lower sides, but then again man city aint that bad neither, we will just have to wait and see cause lets face it the manager hasnt got much option :;):

Don't flip flop your statement. According to what you said the three will only be good at home even though they have only played 7 league games. Meaning that you don't see them improving on the road this season at all.

You yourself just said the Premiership is hard to settle in which it is so why are you writting off the players already?

You contradict yourself all the time Stu, who is Beattie better than?

I agree...Kevin Beattie will be a good signing for us  :D

it can't be mich diffrent from la liga which is the best league in the world but if they are to prove they gonna have to show commintment and track back when we dnt have the ball which garcia didn't do and not to waste free kicks which alonso did the jury is out of them they can play excellent against weak team with weak players at home but when were away they play rubbbish. yeh i know we aint bein beatin this teams at home when houiller was here but where's the passion its seem only carragher is playing with commintment and passion to get us back to where we was in the 70's and 80's. crystal palace showed more and we have better plays imo than them and there were at the bottom on the league and fighting for survival.

La Liga is different from the Premiership, a huge difference and it is not the best league in the world. Why do you think so many foreign players are going to the Premiership instead of the La Liga?

La Liga has a slow pace football while the Premiership does not. It will take time for Spanish players adapt to a faster pace and much more physical league than what they are used to.

You praised Garcia and Alonso when we played Norwich. You expect every player who is new to the Premiership to be able to know how to play in the league. You are sadly mistaken, look at it this way. Can a newborn baby walk in 7 weeks? No it can't.

Crystal Palace showed more because in the 7 games they've played they haven't won one game until they played Fulham. They won because Fulham were with only 10 men for 85 minutes of the game.

They had to win if they planned on staying in the Premiership at the end of the season, they are still at the bottom of the table so they didn't move up because they won game.

You have written off Luis Garcia,Xabier Alonso and Josemi for the entire season. It will take time for these players to adapt.
