A toast - Travelling faithful

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby redbeergoggles » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:42 pm

I don't think all season Liverpool in general ,have inspired the type of  euphoric jubilation I witnessed (and indeed felt ) last night ,not even the United game gave rise to such unheralded elation ,no last night was different very different ,from the moment the ball fell into Torres path you felt all the pent up frustration that watching the Reds this season has collated, explode into a roar of defiance that the world could hear .

It seems our obituary may have been penned a tad to early  ,and it was never more apparent  than in Andy Grays commentary as Torres hit the net with unerring efficiency :D  ,you could almost hear the obligatory pin drop amongst the media ,quickly correcting  their headlines
and it were not for the deafening outburst of emotion from the away fans ,who simply define the term belief, then the sound of Martin Oneil grinding his teeth would have reverberated around Villa Park

Lets not kid ourselves this has been a ridiculously sad excuse for a season riddled with ineptitude ,and if it wasn't for the unstinting faith the travelling fans have shown, then rumours of Liverpools resurgence would have been just that rumours  and  Liverpool would have been dead and buried awaiting the eulogies to roll in ,but no Today we our welcoming the New Year with open arms ,because nothing changes quicker in life than the fortunes of a football club .

So I have introduced this thread specifically to extol the virtues of our travelling faithful ,because without their passion and strength of resolve we would be just another club ...... so I hope you join me this New Year in raising a much merited glass and toasting the fans that make us unique in every respect ............

TO THE FANS A HAPPY NEW YEAR

youll actualy find its pies  Hotpot ones or meat an potatoe :nod ,

Its true though i prefer aways to home games, you dont seem to get so many first timers at the aways, with flashing cameras and phones, especialy the smaller aways, you still get them at the likes of chelsea an the mancs ground

The atmosphere right through the villa game was exceptional.
Fair play to the fans that have travelled in their droves despite how hard things have been this season.

They deserved that last minute winner the other night.

Just want to say the away support at Stoke were exceptional ,especially considering Stoke supporters are supposedly the most audible in the Prem another myth laid to rest it seems ,and if I am not mistaken I think I heard a rousing rendition of Rafa Rafael but I might be wrong ,nice to hear the fans that can genuinely have any say in the matter   making their voices heard ....

(MAYBE THEY DON'T READ THE FORUMS ....GO FIGURE )   :p

Anyway for those that braved one of the most hostile grounds in the country (I SALUTE YOU )
