Its bad over here, but the main question is?

Who is going to bail out the IMF when Fianna Fail is finished with them?

Didn't we knock back the loan that the British government proposed? Thing is, even though the Republic is independant of Britain now, I think I heard somewhere (someone surely knows more or better here) that England still owns a majority of the property, so it's not so much a favour, but more about protecting interests. If anyone should be bailing out our governement, it should be the Yanks with no obligation to pay it back. That's how I see it.

For anyone interested, the Guardian are doing live updates.  A bit like they did for the Liverpool takeover.

I've heard Hicks and Gillette are looking at buying Irelands debt . they've promised to turn the country around within 5 years and build the Guinness factory new premises, spade in the ground within a year.

They're using their success with Liverpool as a reference
