5th place - The race for Europe is on

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby tubby » Sun Feb 06, 2011 7:30 pm

...course if fkn is. We are only 6 points behind Chelsea. Have won 4 on the trot and we won today without any of our 2 new strikers. If we can keep this momentum going I think there is a very good possibility we can sneak 4th place.

I just hope we don't get any injuries with the international friendlies coming up.

Our next 6 fixtures:

12 Feb Wigan  H
27 Feb West Ham  A
6 Mar Man United  H
20 Mar Sunderland  A
2 Apr  WBA  A
10 Aprl  Man City  H

Chelsea's next 6 fixtures
14 Feb Fulham A
19 Feb Everton H
26 Feb Birmingham City H
1 Mar Manchester United H
7 Mar Blackpool A
20 Mar Manchester City H
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I hope to hell you were knocking on wood when you typed this bit.  :p

BTW Yes I think we can.  It'll be a big ask, but I think we can.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

its out of our hands though, all we need to do is get maximum points, keep momentum, keep winning and hoping Tottenshite and Chetski drop points.

we should dispatch of wigan, west ham and wba, but for me the most intriguing match will be the one against sunderland.

they're hovering around our area in the table, and we need to pick up points from them.

on paper those are winnable matches coming up. with the belief in the team under kenny and the new strikers still to come on we have to have a decent chance.

We could win all of our next 6 games. It's very possible.  Obviously manure will be hard, but they can't play us at Anfield.  city obviously will be hard as well but they aren't much away from home.

chelski has a hard schedule ahead.  Fulham away is always a hard game, Everton, manure and city.  Away to Blackpool could be hard as well.  They have had some bad results and when they bounce back, they probably will do so very hard.

We continue playing like this, plus adding Suarez and Carroll, and we are in good hands.  Think of all the long balls we played to Kuyt today.  He won very few.  With Carroll, he would have won 9 out of 10.  Suarez's speed added and we have a ridiculous attack.  Especially considering Meireles has gotten in the habit of scoring every game.

The motivation is certainly there now with Torres gone. I suspect that injected some hunger into the lads, especially with his debut coming against us.

I don't know about 4th but one things for sure - it's dam refreshing to be looking UP the table for a change. YNWA
