4th place

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Everton where rubbish last night and was pure luck they won again the ref cost norwich blatant hand ball, no pen given.
If we end up on the same amount of points we will get 4th as there goal diffrence is pathetic.
They really p#ss me off the way the go on its our rightfull place, ???  says who?
like they have always been a top 4 club, and Moyes yesterday said in the echo when the reporter asked about Liverpool closing the gap, he said why are you mentioning liverpool were not interested in them behind us, we aim to take over arsenal.
Arrogant or what?
Hope they go into a decline cause I despise them like I despise manure, with there attitude like they have never had a poor day. :glare:

If you look at both the fixtures we have the easier of the two so were in the driving seat as I can't see Everton winning the Man U or Chelsea games and thats without playing Arsenal, a few defeats and their confidence will be low, if we keep winning then it will just make them nervous and deflate them even more

I agree with LFC 1
It's going to be incredibly close - possibly to the last game or 2
I can see Everton dropping points against a few teams mentioned
But really we should just be looking at our own performances - everytime we go out now - it's gonna have to be a mini cup final
Who know's - if we manage to get to the semi's in the Champions League - then that may just be the small platform we need to finish strongly
Then we can start looking at how Everton are doing - like people have said, they are not playing really attractive football but they are grinding out results.  If they lose a few games against Chelsea & the Scum, pick up one or two injuries and the loss of Graveson - that may be enough to swing it our way.
But make no mistake - all that is irrelavent - if we can't do the business ourselves.
We've got to believe that the boys still have a chance !

Listen, I think its about time that some people started showing a bit of respect.

I hate Everton and Evertonians as much as the next man, but they are 7 points better than us at this moment in time.

This will be tighter than the proverbial female gnats front bottom, however we are still to play them, so presuming we beat them, then the gap is four points, which is certainly not un acheaivable.

All this anti Everton stuff though, come on please, lets show our true colour and give every team the respect that they deserve. The least we can do people is spell names correctly.

I know what you mean as we have to play n'castle, t'ham, m'boro, everton and arsenal, we can't forget about Middlesboro either cos their hot on our heals and they haven't got too many hard fixtures remaining  :(

I think we'll finish 4th................... JUST ABOUT!!!

I disagree Leon I hate them I despise them they are evil :D .
Cant wait for them to slip up, the way they talk they have a very short memory of last season nearly getting relegated.
But I suppose that comes from living in the shadow of us for so many years.

and??? whats the point you are trying to make??we couldnt even beat southampton for f*cks sake

The point is, Man U , Chelsea and Arsenal want to beat any team because the season is long way to go . So if these 3 team can beat Everton , it's means that Everton lose 9 points and the gap between Liverpool and Everton will be smaller.

are you suggesting that these three teams will only try harder against everton?? and we play against teams who are also trying for fourth place. maybe they wont try as hard as the @rse, the scum and cheslki.

think about your arguments befoe you post them, make sure they make sense. any team should always try as hard as possible, im sure the three teams u mention will try their best against everton no matter what, even if the title is decided by then. who is to say that everton wont grind out a result against all these teams.

optimism is ok but dont let it cloud your judgements

I think the point is that these three teams are vastly better then everton and will want to win! Which in my view makes everton unlikely to pick up many points!
Playing teams which still want to win but of lesser quality logicaly gives you a better chance of getting more points!
I think Everton have done well this season but i do see us moving on and taking 4th place. Last night it seems they were very lucky to get 3 points! its a shame it wasnt just the one.

Correct ! if these teams win and everton lose ... it's means that Everton lose 9 points .

It's doesn't matter which team will play harder , as long these three team beat Everton and Everton will lose 9 points .
