Like other forums, when a new person registers, they usually go to admin for verification, before they can post.

I think its a good idea to vet them before they can post crap about their teams on here and spout tosh about LFC.

We have Old Twatford registered now, whos obviously a WUM, so i think its necessary to vet these idiots

i think its a bad idea. let them come. let them post. let us kick them in the nuts, and in time they'll be banned. why bother making the mods do more then they already are? i could always post a really nice first post and then show my true self.

I disagree, I usually go into forums as a guest just to read.

I think its a bad idea if we don't let guests read whats on the forum.

Plus, we're not talking about a small forum here. If we ask validation for every member with the little time the admin seems to have we'll be preventing  new decent red members from joining.

If we make more difficult to join the forum to 100 decent reds, to keep away 4 wums is not a good idea. Plus, that's what the moderators are for, and people say they're here all the time.

I wouldn't make changes but that's just me.

As sure as night follows day, a call for the mods to ease up one week is followed by a cry for them to crack down the next.  Most true WUMs manage to fire off 5-10 posts before they're wrestled to the ground and hustled out the door.  Like a streaker invading the pitch, just enjoy the show while it lasts because it's usually over pretty quick.
