why do you support liverpool Sabre?
And when did you start supporting?

I'm not a Liverpool adorer from childhood to be honest, but since I was 14, thanks to John Aldridge, the best forward I've seen in our old ground. UNtil then I just respected them and were my favourite team in england, but since then Liverpool is my "World wide" team, and I have it in my heart.

I'm going to post in this forum after Alonso leaves, if that's what you want to know :)

Nah, bad place for holidays, you must expect until summer to get that pic. The rest of the year, rain, rain, rain, rain, did I mention rain?

It's beautiful though.

If you do come, do let me know eh? I'd invite you to some beers!

John Aldridge was a great player, Sabre.

Remind me why he left Sociedad? Was he homesick? He came back to England and played for Tranmere and scored an absolute BUCKETLOAD of goals for them. They were in the old second division at the time and he was more than capable of playing at the top level until about 1994.

His official reason: He was, but his wife wasn't adapted to the Spanish life. When he left he was a fecking hero, he didn't leave because he wasn't scoring, he struggled for the top scorer position in the liga, and was just behind Butragueño of Real Madrid!. Gutted not to have seen in a better team than Tranmere rovers, what a waste.

The reason that is on mouth of everybody here: He had some troubles with one of the men in the board, as he wanted some reinforcements to play alongside him such as Andy Townsend. Some idiots of the board didn't realise he was right, and didn't like neither he said such a thing. Aldo was right needless to say, managed to score 18 goals, with the worst service you could imagine.

Aldo broke with a long tradition in Real Sociedad. We didn't play with foreigners until he came, all were youth system players. And the debate was finished, because we all saw that a player from outside might fight for our shirt as the best of our players. Simply, Aldo is part of the history of Real Sociedad. Important part, always mentioned.

I don't know the real reason, but I'd love to had him a couple of years more.

Posting from Liverpool and my Dad is a Red and got me a season ticket as soon as I was old enough.  No chance in hell I was ever going to be a Blueshite.  I can't imagine a fate like that.

First game I saw at Anfield was against Accrington Stanley in the fa cup (1956?),Think me dad sneaked me in under his overcoat . We won 2-0 both goals from Billy Liddell.  :)
