haha dont let the reputation fool you, of course there is art and temples here but with an asian slant. it is a different type of culture here though and admittedly it is less than london, well maybe not less, just different.

Focusing on the world today and with a decided slant toward economics, I'd have to say New York.  But, London and Tokyo would run it close.  If we're talking political influence, then it would be Washington.  If we're talking popular culture, LA.  If we're talking about sheer number of people living on top of one another than Sao Paulo and Mexico City are in with a shout. :D

I love London, spent a lot of time there in my youth. I just don't like the people very much. If you speak to them and they don't understand your accent...... its because you are a country bumpkin. If they speak to you and you don't understand THEIR accent...... its because you are a THICK country bumpkin.

bigmick wrote:London. Lived there for twenty years and I've got to say IMHO it's the best city in the World. If you want to live in a city, live in London. If you don't, then the world is your lobster.

I should also ask, why don't people ch!ll out a bit? Poor old Dundalk starts a pretty harmless poll in General Chat and people have a pop at him? C'mon guys, deep breaths.

As a further edit, I'm also fully aware that the statement about London is fairly controversial, but it is my opinion nontheless.

I lived in London for six years and am in agreement with Bigmick it is a great place and is truly a world city, even more so than New York is IMO.

No Gravy on the chips mind you. The soft southern nancies

Lived in NYC for 6 months and have visited a bunch of times before and since. Spent a week in London a few weeks ago. The city seems short compared to New York, a lot of times walking around I didn't even feel like I was in a city
