Eastbound is  kind of like The  Trailer Park Boys in terms of humour ,it might start off being as subtle as a house brick on the back of the head but its perceptive humour creeps up on you until your pissing yourself laughing ...

Personally, I didn't think The Pacific was anywhere near as good as Band of Brothers. In BoB, you felt by the end of the series that you knew the characters. At the end of the Pacific, you never felt that attachment whatsoever, so I didn't really care who made it or who didn't.  It missed out on a great opportunity to go into intricate detail on some of the main battles that took place, and for some reason Iwo Jima got the least attention of them all, and that was probably the most horrific of the battles faught in the Pacific theater. It's a solid show, with some fairly brutal and ultra-realistic scenes on Iwo and Peleliu, but it didn't gel as much as BoB did in the end IMO.

The Acific was the Pathetic... no substance, no growth... only about 5 characters, and even they were 2 dimensional... the action was well shot of course but just left me feeling meh

Yeah, it's still a very good series. I loved the intro to it.

Film on channel 4 just starting, This is England, based on where I live in the 80's. Apparently, it has good reviews, so I will be glued to this for a bit.

the first of four spin off episodes was on last night, set three years on from when the film was set. this is england 86. really enjoyed it. you have to have watched the film first though to understand what's going on.
