I've been playing this card game at school the past few days and I don't actually know the name of the game! :D

I thought it was blackjack but I checked the rules of that here and it doesn't match.

The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards. You can put a card on a card with the same number or suit. Anything goes on a queen. An ace changes the suit to your choosing.

Anyone know the game and a link to the rules?

Would really appreciate it! :)

We always gamble with cards in school when it comes to the end of term :D

Do you mean the game that the person who wins is the guy who gets closest to 21?

You are given 2 cards (i think) each by a dealer. Then you are asked if you want to stick or twist. Say I have an 8 and a 7 and I decide to twist and get a 10 then I am out because I have gone over the number 21.

Now if I decide to stick and if I am the player that is in the game and the closest to 21 I have won.

And an Ace can count as a 10 or a 1.

Is that the game you mean?

Yes it's defo blackjack that saint , put a BLACKJACK down and you have to pick up 5 ,a red jack cancels it.

Chase the ace is better. If you end up with the black ace , you get rapped on the knuckles by all your mates. :buttrock

I thought the game you where discribing was "Jack Change It".
Here are the rules. have a read and see if its the same rules you use....

"Jack Change" Card Game A family favourite card game

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Object
To loose all cards
Players
2 upwards
Deal
7 cards each

Control Cards
Ace - change current suit, block a 2
Jack - same as ace
Two - make next player pickup 2 cards
Eight - block a Two (only in a suit matching the Two)

Play
The pack is placed in a pile face down with one card facing up next to it (not a control card). This card determines the suit to be played in. If the card is for example a five of hearts the player can play a five of any suit or a heart. Also if the player cannot take a turn they must pickup one card from the pack or put down a Jack or Ace to change to suit.

If a two is put down the other player must pickup 2 cards from the pack and miss a turn. However the 2 may be blocked by: putting down another 2 (this makes the other player pickup four... and on in trun to 8 if they have enough cards) putting down an Ace or Jack, or playing a 8 in the same suit as the played 2. Eights can otherwise be played as normal cards.

On holding one final card a player must knock on the table. If they fail to do this when the next player has played they must pickup a card from the pack. The winner is the player to loose all their cards first.

its blackjack

Depends how many are playing 7 cards for two players or 5 cards for more than 2 players...

Ace  The player playing an ace nominates a new suit, which the next play must follow.

Two The next player is forced to pick up two cards unless he is able to lay another two, in which case the player after must pick up four cards. If he is able to play another two, he may do this instead, in which case the next player picks up six, etc.

Seven The direction of play is reversed.

Jack A black Jack causes the next player to pick up 5 cards, unless he can follow with a red jack (which neutralises the black jack) or another black jack, in which case the next player must draw 10 cards, unless able to lay a red jack (which cancels it out)

Queen The next player is skipped.

King The next two players are skipped.

You can introduce local rules... I never played with the "King" option of skipping the next 2 players... but basically that's the game your playing
