Labour polititians keep spouting on about no one won the election, heres a few facts:-

1. Consevatives got 36% of vote and 306 seats
2. If Labour had got 36% of vote would have about 360 seats (its the way they set the constuancies)
3. Labour quote that of the 23% who vote Lib Dem was vote against Conservatives, it was also a vote against Labour.
4. In UK 64% did not vote Conservative, 72% did not vote Labour.
5. In England, Tory: 39.6%, Labour: 28.1%, Lib Dem: 24.2%, UKIP: 3.5%

I think its time we English got devolution of our own.

Democracy has spoken. Anyone who cares about the future should be behind this coalition. The common good.

Absolute joke of an election and an insult to democracy! How can it be that an idiot is in power..his party comes second surpassed by another idiot party.....There is a 3rd party that no one really votes for or listens to bar a few deranged pensioners or confused hippies...but its the 3rd party with the less votes that has the power to change government?

I think people who didn’t vote for the Tories need to calm down. Because:

A) Labour had to go. Their time was up.

B) The Tories got the most votes and, living in a democracy, isn’t that the way it works?

C) There’ll be another election within 12 months. So, if he’s that bad, he wont be around for long.

There...everyone's happy... :D

i think it is great that a new government has been formed and one with a reasonable majority. It is common for parties with many differences to work together in government and these two represent about 60% of the British electorate.

I am also happy the Tories are in power, I despise tax and spend parties, I deserve my money and shouldn't have to give it to somebody less successful.

The markets will like this too, I bet the cost of UK borrowing will drop which means less interest repayments. They have massive cuts to make now to make up for the squander of the labour party. I just hope that come next election people are educated enough to realise the reason the Tories made the cuts aren't because they are evil (as the simple people claim) but because Labour let spending get out of control.

Get over it!

It is stupid to vote for the same party for all eternity.
