What do we miss? - From our childhood?

Looking back at my childhood, there are many things I miss, born late 70's and child through the eighties, what I miss the most, Weekend TV ! The mornings of course. What happened to TV that was dedicated to kids? what happened to the cartoons, the comedy, the pop bands as guests? Programs like Number 73, Live and Kicking, Motormouth and all the others, why is it these programs have gone and now we are inundated with cookery programs, my kids dont like most of the rubbish they are cooking, they cook themself at school but not even they will eat it !

And what happened to the parks? When we were kids, we had swings, and roundabouts (now its just a saying as if its a myth) and now we have concrete loaded with pebbles and dog sh!t !
The kids today have no chance, we moan because all they do is stay in and play on there consoles rather than play outside, but how can they play outside? All the parks have been demolished, everything we enjoyed as kids are long gone, so we now force them out then they are picked up for loitering ! Common sense, thats long gone !

What do you miss from your childhood the most?

I miss long summers without school. Having actually so much time for you, that you can afford to feel bored.

I don't have that luxury this days. It might seem so because I post much, but most of my posting is while I have another 3 windows related to work.

I'd like to have the TIME to spend it in whatever I want. That's what I miss most, and it's not material.

Thats a good one. Time. We forget ourselves with the impression we put upon our own kids that they have time on there side. Just as we did. Not everything has to be rushed.

Going round me nan's on a Friday when two or three Aunties were there before they all set off down the street shopping - the sitting room took on the ambience of a working mens club. Thick heavy smoke, bad language and the kettle was never off.  :)  Happy times...
