I banned him.  Big fucking deal.  No loss to this forum the shit stirring trouble causer.  He said he wouldn't be posting here anymore anyway.  Anyway, after he called me a "wee toothless cunt" and the mods a bunch of women (so again, it's our fault that members get warnings..), I thought it best he left quietly.  Fair enough, that's his opinion, he might not like me, but I do have all my own teeth...

Not just five warnings though.  That's never stopped him before.  He just hangs round the threads looking all sorry for himself (if at all possible on a computer monitor) and Pm'ing people with "Oi" saying how much he wants to come back and blah, blah, blah... 

No, not anymore, account deletion time this (last) time.

By the sounds of things, everyone's got his MSN.  Speak to him there if you must.  It'll be a long time before he posts on here again as long as it's up to me.

just to make clear i get on with stu and we chat on msn so its not an attempt to get him in trouble, but the reasons given for banning barry can easily be applied to stu, or do you have to call a mod names to get banned?

No Dawson.  He's not coming back.  Call me what you like Peewee.  I didn't ban him because he called me a name.  He's got plenty of previous and was towing the line again.

If he's allowed back, I won't moderate him.  I'll block his posts so if any members get abused by him or complain about him, they'll get the middle finger from me and told to sort it out themselves. 
I've banned him now, I've done my job, I shouldn't have to do it again.

I also won't be provoked into saying something about Stu's history on here.  Stu is on four warnings, if he keeps his nose clean, there's no problem is there?  Just like everyone else who keeps their noses clean.

Let's not all pretend we're all perfect.  I don't pretend I am, otherwise you wouldn't be questioning this decision I've made.  Fact is, one rule for all or no rules at all doesn't always work.  Judgment calls are sometimes required.  Some people should be grown up enough to moderate themselves and just aren't capable of it. 

All's this is doing is taking attention away from real threads that should be being discussed.  And I'm leaving work now and not coming back on here until tomorrow probably.

More generally (not aimed to S@int, but everybody):

About the one rule for all, we'll see to it that no members are above the warnings or bans that both Barry and Stu have received. They're not the only ones calling names.

In other words, just in case it's not understood the first time and I'm called two-faced later: I don't give a flying fúck how important they think they are any clique members in this forum, name "the cool" guys, name "the football nerds", name anybody. *All* members are the same here, and they're mostly important because they're LFC fans with a contribution to make.

***If*** they think that importance is real, that importance will be only in their minds, the reality is that they're as important as the users that logged in last month and are under the same rules.

***if*** they think being a mod is a power and we're some sort of sheriff, then they don't understand what a mod is and they're blatantly wrong about what a forum is meant for. I'd suggest they realise they should find real friends and real relevance in the real world. And I don't mean the thread.

Surely thats a bit unfair. If someone has been a regular poster for over 12 months tells great jokes!! and has never had a warning, he should get more leeway than someone who has just joined and is already causing trouble.

No probs mate.  In real life, I've been told by some people I'm one of the dryest most sarcastic people they've ever met.  I can't help it.  It's fucking hilarious I think. 

No complaints from me if I fall for it though.
