Look at the low earners in relation to their current popularity.

47 Sergio Aguero Atletico Madrid 416.000 € 5.000.000 €
71 Xabi Alonso Real Madrid 375.000 € 4.500.000 €
74 David Silva Manchester City 358.000 € 4.300.000 €
86 Wesley Sneijder Internazionale 333.000 € 4.000.000 €
94 Nemanja Vidic Manchester United 333.000 € 4.000.000 €

Just a selection and my opinion of course. These ^^ players are the ones who will offered increased wages/contract renegotiation and subsequently potential transfer targets.

How accurate is that list?  I find it hard to believe that our vice captain is earning less than Glen Johnson, Joe Cole and Andy Carroll...

Why is that hard to believe. Footballers don't renegotiate their contracts every time another player is transferred to ensure they're in the correct pecking order.

Besides Carragher is hardly in a position of power to demand higher wages is he?

Im sorry, but I find it shocking that someone like Carra, who has put his body on the line for this club and won lots of trophies is earning less than Joe Cole... a freebie who has done nothing of note in a Liverpool shirt.

I think i even recall Carra mentioning in his book that it upset him being vice captain but earning less than one or two other players.

Incredible to see some people so low on that list... namely Sneijder and Vidic.  In my opinion, one of the top CB's in the world and one of the better mids and they are that low on the list.
DESPITE THE FACT I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA...

I'm not saying the order of earnings is right, I'm saying that in the world of football, actually in business in general, contracts aren't renegotiated every transfer windows.

Thd earnings pecking order is defined based on current contract statuses. That is the way EVERY club works.

It may not be right to look at but it is unavoidable unless a player forces a contract discussion mid contract. It rarely happens.
