apparently we have a research facility which develops and engineer`s the bikes and by all accounts the bikes cost an absolute fortune.
i`m not sure every country on the planet can afford that.
when equipment becomes a big factor in deciding the destination of the medals and not solely the performance of the athlete then i`m not convinced that is in the spirit of the olympics, the richer nations have a huge advantage.
saying that i suppose the same thing applies with the bobsled in the winter olympics, i`m sure engineering plays a big part in who wins that event too.
still a hell of an effort by hoy though, he`s 36 and to win a sprint event at the highest possible level at that age takes some doing.
