As a massive fan of the original film I have to say that I am really looking forward to seeing this remake at the flicks when it comes out at the end of the month.

However this article below has left me worried and wondering how close the Journalist actually got to Johnny Depp before writing it?

Original was brill, and Depp was fantastic in Pirates of Carribean. Will probably go and see this myself.

It looks good from what i've seen from the trailer.
My brother mentioned to me the Depp's likeness to MJ too!

Still not sure if it's gonna be better than Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka though.. he was pretty damn good!!

.. this one's suppose to be more in the spirit of the book, so it has 'dark' undertones..

I watched it the other night, its good but still prefer the original. Jonny Depp is one weird fella :Oo:

no offence but i think it looks fuc&in dreadful and that is going off the adverts, deep hasnt got a patch on wilder and dont even get me started on the lame effects they use for the factory.......this was a classic and should never have been touched, not even by tim burton....u cant remake films like that, now Kong looks class though

Not seen this yet, but the original is a fu*ked up classic.  It's meant to be a kids film but it is just so DARK.

.. oh well folks went to see this yesterday..and well.. it was a real disappointment.. not a patch on the orgiginal.. My babe enjoyed it but she's only 5 so did not really understand the dark bits.. the oompa lumpas are the same fella.. digitally recreated in to hundreds of Ommpa lumpas... :O

.. anno most of you will go see it.. but it's the most wasteful 16 quid spent .. all those splinters... the acting was so wooden :D

Roald Dahl = Fantastic Author
Pinewood studios = Legendary
Johnny Depp = Amazing Actor
Tim Burton = Drugged out, crazy, wierd genius of a Director.

Now that is what you need for a film like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I hope they do The Great Glass Elevator as well. I can just imagine Johnny Depp as an excentric Englishman fighting Aliens in space. That would rule. :D
