also you need to know at what point are you classed as parked, is it when you pull into the space, is it when your car is stationary, is it when you switch off your engine or is it when you get out of the car. when did they start timing you? if it is when you get out of the car, then surely the clock must stop when you get back into your car

go and tie them up in knots mate with little arguments like that, they will be glad to get rid of you    :D

:D , The p'isser is that in situations like this common sense has gone out the window. If a warden had come along , he wouldn't have ticketed me as he could plainly see I was looking to pull out of the bay, but instead we now are held to account by a couple of dodgy cctv pictures.

Rest assured PWee, I've got loads of time on my hands  :D , If I get my way it'll be years before they see the back of me. I've already written back claiming that the offence didn't happen (:D ) I've deliberately neglected to state why I've denied the offence, I'm saving it for another letter.  :D

Anyone know the rules ?

Got caught on camera 16 minutes and some seconds into a 15 minute restriction on a camera monitored parking bay.

I got back to my motor within the alloted time and the camera shows me inside my vehicle, engine running, wheels turned, waiting for a long stream of traffic to clear so I can exit the bay (was wanting to do a U turn so needed both sides of road to be clear). The Kunts want to charge me £40 (£80 if I don't pay immediately) for being 1min 49 seconds over the alloted time.

Can my situation given the circunstances at that moment still be legally classed as "parking" ?

That is insanity .........government sanctioned insanity   :no

Or if the warden was a she, you could have employed the Woof charm on her. :D  First, vans with telly detectors and now CCTV cameras to time how long you've parked.  Orwell wasn't far off was he? :no

hey sabre. i got myself a crossover cable but i still didn't manage to get the wifi runing yet. the network magic software saint recommended is PC only and i haven't managed to find a mac equivalent.

the first thing i want to be sure about is that i am plugging the crossover cable into the right place. i have 4 sockets on my router:- line which is a smaller size so it can't be that one even though it would make most sense to me, IPTV which i'm guessing is for the internet telly i don't have, HG, Lan1 and Lan2. i've tried HG and Lan1 and neither of them worked.

i guess i'm going to have to go into the router set up page via my browser, which is no problem. i just haven't got a clue what to do when i get there!!

In my afternoon job I have a MAC and I'm doing a bit of google to help you.

You're right about the small socket, we won't use it. It's only used when it's the router which connects you to the internet, but in this case your router will be just a hub that will be connected to the Motorola cable modem.

Lemme look a couple of things and I'll help you later, (sooner or later depends on how calm is the afternoon)

Hi guys!! Just looking a bit of tech help here. I have a Toshiba Equium A2001VO lap top which I love but it only has 2 USB ports and this is a bit of a pain. I have been on the PC World web site and you can buy one of these...........

I was wondering that if I buy a USB hub with 4 extentions on it can I run 4 USB cables from it or can you just run the one??

Thanks in advance
Kazza

Kazza, basically, you plug the USB Hub into your your laptop (the USB port on you laptop).  Once you do this, you have 4 USB ports to play with ie you can then plug in 4 devices into the USB Hub.

Hope this helps.
