My dad is 6' 3" ???

Each to their own, as long as we all agree that the Xbox 360 is the best, what does it matter? At the touch of a button I can pause drooling over the graphics & gameplay and see (ingame) what the quickest level completion time in the world has been on PDZ, whilst playing a pc game I am able to see loads of keys at the same time, on a gc I can relive my cartoon watching childhood, a playstation2 enables us to view old skool graphics and titles, if I had a mac I could sit back safe in the knowledge that Halo was originally planned for that very system. Its all good, lets be happy.

If you do get yourself a NGC (and I hope you do. Trust me, you'll love it!), get your hands on some (if not all) of these:

Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime:Echoes
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Zelda
Viewtiful Joe (1 and 2)
P.N.03
Super Monkey Ball (1 and 2)
Super Mario: Sunshine
Pikmin (1 and 2)
Killer 7
Ace Golf
F-Zero GX
MGS
Any of the New Resident Evil games
Donkey Konga
Any of the Mario Party games
Animal Crossing
Super Smash Bros. Melee

And Neil, I agree that variety is the spice of life this thread, hell this entire forum would be incredibly boring if we all said the same things. And yes, technically, speaking from a logistical standpoint, the X360 is CURRENTLY the best around. But I'll save my money for now and wait for the Rev and the PS3. I have a feeling that we will have a similar discussion when that happens.   :D

Oh, and I'd add Dawn Of War to your list. I have been playing it and it takes me back to my nerdy, tweeny years. Ah, the memories...

I think we are at cross purposes Ace as I can't disagree with Nintendo's pedigree and sheer playability of its games.

My argument is more against the PS2 which dominates console land and the vast majority of titles on that platform are drivel.

I'm dying to get my hands on Residential Evil 4 so much that I'm tempted to buy the GC just for that game alone, as it will still be a number of months before its out on PC.

JBG, the PS2 version has loads of extra's (extra levels, weapons etc) that wern't available on the NGC - can't say if the graphics are better on the NGC or PS2 tho.

I've just started playing it as i've just finished COD2 on the PC.

IGN said the Gamecube version was the best  ???

My mate has it and it's a very impressive game.

I've also heard the GC version is the best although its true that the PS2 has more levels etc. I think the GC version has better graphics, thats all.

Of course, the PC version will have AA + AF and high rez graphics.................

Ive played both the ps2 version and the gamecube version, and the gamecube is by far the better.  :nod The difference is huge,it just flows on the gamecube ,and the ease ofthe controls just makes it perfect. I played to the village on the ps2 version and that was enough.... :censored:

Man, Ace has persuaded me. I think I might splash out on a second hand GC, as they are cheap as chips.

Or will I wait for the Revolution, seeing that it is apparently backwards compatible?

I spot on your opinions about the PS2.

Too much software reusing to get a whole different new game, being 89% the same to a previous game.
It's a :censored: shame how many versions of the same game with the same engine appear. Back in the eighties if someone copied the filmation techniques of ULTIMATE (Actual RARE software) they'd be blamed for it. There's a terrible lack of ideas in nowadays games.

Since you don't have hard disk, or you don't use it, you can't actually have many things going on in the PS2 RAM, so games will tend to be simple and linear. But I think it's a problem of many consoles.

I'd wait for the Rev. Not only can you download any game that's ever featured on the Nes, Snes, N64 and NGC, but the Rev will also be able to play NGC discs as well as normal ones. I can't wait to download Goldeneye and have some mates round for a bit of oldschool multiplayer. :D
