Well that was one of the finest test matches i didn't watch.  :D

Seriously though, i was chewing my finger nails today watching the live website (text only). Its a shame the English could not capitalise on an excellent first innings (after winning the toss), but fair play to aussie's, from day 3 onwards they really got stuck in. Look at the run-rates, amazing.

The next test will wrap it up for the aussie's if england don't at least draw.

Good luck Ingerland, C'mon Aussie !!!!!!

Judge i reckon if you draw the next test, then we may crumble in the last two, letting the english retain the ashes. However i expect the aussies will wrap it up in the next test, then probably lose one of the dead tests.

Disgraceful result for Engand, it's the highest first innings total by a losing team (declared) in the history of test cricket.

The key point of the series was when Giles dropped Ponting on 35, if he took the catch Australia were 4/78, still 373 behind. Instead Ponting went on to make 142 and him and Hussey set up the innings. England probaly win the test (or come damn close, certainly would'nt be down 2-0). You can't drop the best batman in the world, you can't.

On Giles, he MUST be dropped! He was lucky to play in Adelaide I thought. Panesar has to get a chance, Giles is rubbish.

England have to stop playing defensive cricket and have a go at the Aussies, thats how they won in 2005 and 2-0 down they have nothing to lose really. Fair play to Australia though, what a turnaround - Warney is the greatest bowler of all time, hands down.

Couldn't believe it Neil tbh, he did nothing in Brisbane to deserve selection. It's a totally defensive selection based on Giles superior fielding and batting ability, but what happened? Giles bowled sh!te (no surprise there), made no runs and dropped a catch which IMO was the same as dropping the Ashes urn, Steve Waugh's "you've dropped the World Cup" sledge to Herschelle Gibbs comes to mind.

Panesar must play!

That last day debacle was like watching the England team of ten years ago. Absolutely abysmal.

Anyway, check this out.

sorry boys as an aussie giving some advice . Selecting Giles is ridiculous. He does not look like getting a wicket. England had to play monty this test. . Its going to be very dificult  to win two out of the last three.. Good luck. I suppose if England do lose this series there is a good chance that warne. McGrath, Gilchrist, langer, Martyn Hayden....sh it  the whole team retire.:D

What summed the day up was when freddie flintoff had bowled 5 dot balls only for the last ball of his over to be knocked towards the boundary and the aussies getting 3 runs. Not too bad i hear you say, only the ball was retrieved and thrown to kevin peiterson who decided to throw it like a missile and it went for 4 over throws. 7 runs off the last ball of his over. At this point I switched off. :veryangry
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

Ditto mate, this one incident summed up England's efforts in this game in a nutshell, they were embarrassing and to think many people have spent fortunes going out there to watch that, I'd be going mental if I were there. The fans deserve better.......
