Okay, first off, a mea culpa: I probably could have sent a quick PM to Ayrton acknowledging his complaint and letting him know I'd inquire into the matter.  I was busy yesterday and I didn't get back to him.  It happens sometimes but, in hindsight, it clearly could have saved some aggro so my bad.

Now, onto this...

In my opinion I think he came with a genuine concern and was met with apathy, disdain and ridicule.If that is how you want this site to be represented, fair enough, there is nothing more to be said.

I'm sorry but you guys--and here I'm referring especially to S@int and aCe'--need to look at your own roles in all of this before you tut tut about the Mods.  Read the first page of the thread.  Who's right in there, cracking jokes about St. Mike's habits from the off?  You two.  Sure, you were congenial and good humoured about it but that doesn't change the fact that you were treating this situation like a joke, much like everyone else was.  I didn't see either of you asking Barry to tone it down or telling Dundalk or Igor that this was a legitimate concern that needed to be taken seriously.  So, if you really felt like this guy was treated with 'apathy, disdain and ridicule' when he came forward with his concern, you sure weren't speaking up at the time.  Curious one, that.

He then makes no further posts on the subject until AFTER Bob had replied to him.

Right.  Not counting the five other posts he made in between, most engaging Barry in banter (no probs there) but one to whinge about the forum rules and the lack of mod responses again (although there were likely no mods on at the time). So, with a little encouragement from you and your three monkeys, he'd come to the conclusion that we weren't interested and had taken the hump.  Cue my sarky reply.

In fairness , I've had a look Ayrtun77's site and the fella seems to have tried to play things down although many members in there are bent on stirring sh'ite, they're almost as bad as some of ours.

Fair enough on the first point Bob. Its always easier in hindsight mate.

On the second point I am not a Mod and obviously there was little I could say or do apart from make light of the situation, while informing him that it was no surprise or revelation to us.

TBH I was unsure whether it was a windup or not until I read the thread on their site. No doubt Dundalk did think it was a windup.

No one (off here anyway) is asking for StMick to be banned/stripped of his Modship or disciplined in any way (as far as I am aware)

The only thing I have done is make comment on how his complaint was treated, and make a joke that you seemed to appreciate but which Woof seemed to take exception to. You can't please all the people all the time, which applies both to my joke and your jobs as Mods.

As soon as I realised it was a genuine complaint, I posted the thread off their site to make others aware that it was genuine.  After which I tried to be a little more respectful and friendly.

The truth of the matter as far as I can see is that everyone thought the initial complainant was Bill, and then naturally assumed it was a wind up as most of his posts are. That it subsequently turned out not to be him and therefore not a wind-up was a surprise to everyone I should think. I've no doubt that's why the mods never responded to the initial pm, they thought it was Bill.

My point on the other thread is essentially that people such as young William shouldn't be banned. Yes he's a wind-up, yes he's argumentitive, yes he talks b0ll0cks but he is a passionate Liverpool fan who adds to the place. People such as Leon are also sorely missed (by me anyway) and that's even given the fact that we had a few dust ups (thankfully for me only interent ones). Bill by his own admission pops in for a wee wind up, but IMHo anyway he shouldn't be banned in the first place.

Anyways I don't think FWIW on this occasion the mods are overly at fault. I must confess, when I started reading the thread I thought it was Bill as well. Might be time to have a proper word with St Mike though, time to get all that sorted.

I don't deliberately set out to "bash the MODs", but when I think they are in the wrong I say so.  Usually I am met with the same apathy, disdain and ridicule as the MOD from the other site was. So I do have some sympathy for him and anyone else who tries to raise issues of any kind with the Mod's.

If you bothered to read their thread you would realise that it was because of their members concerns that the Mod came onto our site in the first place.

Utter sh.te.....1st I knew was yesterday late afternoon and the invasion had all ready taken place.
