I might be wrong here but from the outside it looks as though the immigrants and muslim communities have been getting a rough deal and probably if given the chance would contribute to the system like any other residents. There will always be extremists in every walk of life who ruin chances for everyone else.I myself on here have attacked the stupid political correctness in this country and i stand by that, because blackboards, gollywogs on jam jars etc were part of my childhood and even now find it hard to believe things like that have had to change. One thing i can say in my job i travel to businesses
all over the country i.e. hotels, shops, care homes, factorys etc (when i,m well that is) and one thing i find all over is that muslims, immigrants etc certainly worked harder and longer than we do.This can be a doctor, shop owner open 17 hours aday, taxi driver working 18 hours a day.....and it does go on.How many including myself would work those kind of hours 7 days a week.

Everyone seems to have the 'blame everyone else' mentality.  The poor blame the not-so-poor for the fact that they're poor, and the not-so-poor say it's their own fault.  There's no doubt it's harder to make progress financially if you have a disadvantaged start, i.e. your parents were immigrants.  Some people don't see that they've got anything to lose by rioting.  I'm not excusing it, but would we do the same in their situation?  Who can say?  If governements spent more time looking after their people and less time feathering their own nests it would help.

if its worse in their adopted country, and better before, then perhaps the choice is an easy one - go back where they came from!!

harsh, but i think some of them need a reality check. No one has a devine right to dictate policy within the country they are born in, or have come to.

ive said before, when in rome........................... :nod

An indication perhaps of the inequality that exists in ALL societies but no excuse for the kind of actions taking place throughout france . I have a mate works a 50 hour week ,his boss works 36 . I know an african forest ranger in Malawi who earns 25p a day . Neither of them are setting fire to other peoples property or beating old men to death .

Part of me feels like they should be sent back if they don't like France but then part of me feels if your country colonised then you end up with the race problems that follow.

The French police are using the riots as practice sessions in case the mancs play us in the final.
